Throughtheflame Migrating to new servers – Limited Access

On Sunday 27th February 2011 9am UTC/GMT Throughtheflame.org website will switch into Read Only Mode.
This will mean members will be able to log in, but will not be able to post, create threads, send private message etc.

At this time we will be performing a full site backup, to migrate the data across to the new server.

Due to a change in name servers and IP addresses there will potentially be a delay of 24 to 48 hours to propagate across the internet.

The new server and full site access should be available from at the latest Tuesday 1st March

FAQs

Will I lose any of my information, or posts that I have made?
No all data will be backed up, hence we are switching the site to read only mode first, so we get the latest snapshot of data.

So I won’t be able to access TTF for nearly 2 days?
You will have access to TTF continuously, but you will only be able to read posts, you will not be able to make a post.

So How will I know when everything is back to normal?
I will make a post on the site to notify you that the migration has completed and all can log in and post as normal

Will the site look different?
No. The site will be exactly the same, all we have changed is the physical power of the server, meaning, faster access and smoother operation.

Why are you doing this?

I have other questions that are not answered here who shall I ask?
Post your questions within this thread, and a member of the TTF team will be happy to explain more fully.

Thank you very much, I believe those in USA will see the new site first as thats where the servers are physically. It will probably take a few days to propogate through Europe, Asia and Australasia.

However, do note there may be a few bugs and tweaking required here and there, so if there are any issues, please do let a member of the TTF team know.
