      Lightbulb TTF Search beta

Based on much research statistics indicate that the over 70% of internet users have their homepage defined as their favourite Internet Search Engine.

With that in mind, a PA first entry on to the internet is a search engine, in which they have the whole world open to them and a single wrong thought, can make you dive into the world that we are so actively trying to protect ourselves from.

TTF have decided to trial a search page which runs on the google search engine, which members can use as their home page if they so wish. The idea behind it is quite simple. If this is the first page you hit when you first log on to your computer, we would hope through the knowledge you gain through TTF, perhaps before your start your internet surfing, just the mention of TTF may sow that little seed to make you think twice if your ever feeling weak.

Please note this is a beta version, and therefore the page is not overly pretty, nor can we vouch that all links / functions will work on all browsers.

We would be keen to hear your thoughts and suggestion on this, so please do feel free to comment within this thread and help us, to help you.

Give it a go and let us know!

I can't get this to work with the Firefox brower. How can I get it to work with Firefox?

Hello Misty Eyed, What specifically does not work, I have tested this with firefox 3.6.13 and did not encounter any problems.

Can you explain if the page is not displaying correctly for you, or if it is a functional error that you are experiencing.

      Many Thanks

I tried to set it as my homepage & it doesn't do anything.

Ah yes, the 'set as homepage' functionality works only for Opera, Chrome, and Internet Explorer. We were unable to apply the coding genius required for functionality to work in firefox. But of course if you want to set it as your homepage in firefox, you can set it manually.

As this is simply a beta version, we are just monitoring the stats, and only if the concept is adopted and advantageous to members will we look into developing this further.

      Many Thanks

I hope you do develop it further. I know I would use it. Maybe put in a safe search feature that people can't disable. I don't know if that is possible but it sounds good in theory. It would help a lot of people here who use it here. This is just my thoughts on the issue. Keep up the good work.

      Hello,
It is possible to force safe search for a single web browser. You have to go to "Preferences" on Google and then there's an option for locking safesearch.

For forcing safesearch for all requests that leave TTF Search Engine, I will PM admin2.
