      Default Saul of Tarsus, who is called Paul

      From the pen of the man who wrote 2/3 of the New Testament!

      "This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief." {I Timothy 1;15}

      [commentary: Paul himself saying in modern vernacular that he's a no good rotten sinner in need of someone to save him because he cannot save himself... Just like me]

      "Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage." {Galations 5:1}

      [commentary: does this speak to my PA? Definitely.]

      "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." {Phillipians 4:6-7}

      "And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we once conducted ourselves in the lusts of the flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
      But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been save)" {Ephesians 2:1-5}

      [commentary: This was me.]

      The LORD says, "I will give you back what you lost to the swarming locusts, the hopping locusts, the stripping locusts, and the cutting locusts. It was I who sent this great destroying army against you. Joel 2:25

      Maybe porn = the locusts in our situation?

      Dewvis,

      That's an interesting thought for sure..

      Certainly locusts as an instrument of God's judgement against a rebellious people, skipping numerous opportunities to turn to Him they did not. Instead they pursued their own interests.... Definitely sounds like me when I was using...

      The locusts, in and of themselves, are not sinful.

      P is utterly sinful in every regard near as I can tell.

      So P is "like" the locusts in the sense that it robs and steals. Just so long as we do not ascribe P to God...

      Default Fireproof

      I saw a film the other day that would probably apeal to you guys, called 'Fireproof', a real 'born again' slant to the film, but I enjoyed it. Porn was likened to a parasite that erodes and destroys marriages,much like your locusts!
