New theme for this thread - "Today instead of porn..." I am going to account for myself in 2 ways:
1) How many days I have been P free, heading towards the 100 day mark.
2) How I spent my free time instead of viewing porn.

Today, instead of porn I decided to clean through, sort, and get organized - Place is so clean, I feel like I can think again. Ready for the next wave of exams now...If those 4 hours had gone to porn, I would not feel this relieved and I would still be in a messy place. There is 4 hours to put towards the 10,000 hour goal of free time spent elsewhere than perversion.
Stats:
1/100 days
4/10,000 free time hours

I should start a clock as well

This is a good idea. I am going to adopt this. Need to be more productive with all these extra time. :)

Today instead of porn I spent my 2-3 hours of free time reinstalling my OS and the computer 'feels clean' now. I am extremely tired from work, but managed to think up some great ideas for school projects due soon. Now I am spent and ready to turn in early on a Friday! I will wake up very early tomorrow - well rested and with loads of free time to spend on something worth having.
This brings my tally to:
2/100 days clean
6.5/10,000 hours of free time spent well. bnana_dance
I attended a campus event, and forgot how much fun it is to be out in the world and not in hunched over a glowing screen in the dark like Golem clinching to his precious. It's been 8 days now, and I am finally breathing easy again. All my addiction-like qualities slipped away from me like a bad dream. It is so much easier to resist once your mind has had a good week to clear up.
8/100 days p-free
27.5/10,000 goal free time hours used constructively instead of porn.
- And believe me, it makes all the difference. My mind has cleared up so much! I finally got my mojo back and am able to joke around in conversations with friends and meet new people. A clean conscience is priceless.
Here is a piece of writing I came across during my free time away from porn that has really inspired me, I hope it captures your imagination as well:
"Good and evil both increase at compound interest. That is why the little decisions you and I make every day are of such infinite importance. The smallest good act today is the capture of a strategic point from which, a few months later, you may be able to go on to victories you never dreamed of. An apparently trivial indulgence in lust or anger today is the loss of a ridge or railway line or bridgehead from which the enemy may launch an attack otherwise impossible."
C.S. Lewis - Mere Christianity
Ohh, and I would be remiss not to give a shout out to Phil413's 100 days thread for providing that extra strength I needed to overcome that first, and toughest, week:

This is a really nice idea. I like the way you're writing your journal. All the things you're doing rather than using P. I think it's great. Keep up the good work!
We do not want to do the work of helping you to believe in your humanity. We cannot do it anymore. We have always tried. We have been repaid with systematic exploitation and systematic abuse. You are going to have to do this yourselves from now on and you know it.

Thank you for sharing. . . it is amazing to consider how many hours of my life I, too, have been spent hunched over my computer like Gollem obsessing over "my precious."
Keep posting, it is encouraging! I'm on day 6 and am interested to learn what you do with your extra time. . . I need to get busy.
