      Default 2.7.11

I am addicted to pornography. There is something about writing that phrase that makes me feel scared and releived at the same time. Here I am to make a change though and I know that this is a great tool for myself. I will stay strong and use the support from the people in this community.

Today is my second day in the start of my new life withouth pornography. God has blessed me so much and there is a bigger plan for my life.

      Out.

Hello NH and welcome to TTF!

Glad to see you starting a journal. You will get support here. This is a great first step.

The site has good articles in the articles tab, and if you look through some of the other PA's journals here you will get some good ideas for your own recovery.

      Wishing you the best!

Welcome my friend, reading through your initial posts my heart went out to you. It sure is a horrible feeling when you realise that no amount of kidding yourself will change the inevitable. I remember I used to pray and ask god for forgiveness and that I would not doit again, eventually I changed that to I probably will do it again, because like yourself I had come to the realisation that nothing changes. However it can change, but you have to MAKE it change. first things first, analyze all possible routes you have used to access porn, and either remove them or block them so that you cannot get to the porn, don't rely on your own self control. As you have noticed, no matter how much you think you can do it today, in a day, or a few days that resolve will start to crumble, and the battlements must be up ready for that first assault.

Read through the advice for newbies section for some real good tips.

All the best, and resolve yourself from this day to be in for the long haul.

      Default welcome

      'I am addicted to pornography'

It took me a long time to write those words as well. It took me even longer to actually believe in them. Addiction was for other people who were weak and lacked control. Well, guess what? That's us! However, admitting this is absolutely fundamental because it makes you realise that it's not just about changing a small part of who you are, it's about altering the way you behave, think, respond to other people and so on. It's also really important to go back to these words when you've had a bit of success and are starting to feel that you've beaten P. - it might seem like a long way off now, but give it time and determination and a little support from this site and you'll make it happen. But never, ever stop, reading and thinking about those words.

It's an addiction, it won't go away, it's one day at a time. no more, no less.

Hi NNHelp im echoing the welcomes here, cannot add to the already sound advice you have received, and there is no way I could top a quote from MR T!

I just wanted to drop a quick note to sincerely applaud you for being clear and straight about your current addiction. There are many that would take years to acknowledge this, even after analysing themselves. You have made a very huge first step, and keep your clear focus like that, and you will achieve your objectives quicker than you may think.

      Wishing you all the best
