      Default Ben's Journal

About two years ago, I had incredible success using this board for 90 days to journal about my recovery. After over a year of being clean I have fallen off the wagon this spring and I am making a fresh start.
I am developing a plan with my recovery buddy Mike that will keep me honest, have me updating this journal daily, have me planning my time thoroughly, and have me systematically avoiding my triggers. With humility and support, I will be back on track.

Feeling strong today. Didn't use the computer at all yesterday, just worked and then had a wonderful dinner with my wife and some friends. Today I will be working on yard work and going to martial arts class.

My wife is really upset a non-P issue and I spent some time consoling her and planning some raised bed garden boxes I am building for her. I will be spending my free time this weekend listening to some books on tape and running the saw in the back yard.

      Ben,

Greetings, I'm sorry that you had to come back here. But, let me just say that this addiction is a life long struggle from which you can not take a break or it breaks you. I would like to add that TTF should be a life-long friend and not just a causal friend when you have fallen. Which means that everyday that you are clean gives others hope for recovery to a better healthier life and when you start to slip others can help to support you.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage and the strength to change the things I can,
and wisdom to know the difference.

May your feet stay on the path to recovery

I could not agree more. The reason I had not been part of the community after my initial success is that I was pretty much not using the computer. This community is an amazing resource.

Big challenges today. Forced to use the computer at work and triggered bigtime. Talking a walk and calling my sponsor. Tough day.

Stay strong and you will get past this. An having a sponsor helps, and you did the right thing keep it up.

Still on the plan but have been away from the computer for a few days. Cleaning up my diet as well, and that has me excited. The wife and I are cooking together in the evenings to save $ and eat higher quality food. Been avoiding my triggers and staying away from the internet.

Well Ben it sounds like you are making good progress about getting back on the wagon. Keep it up and stay strong.
