Daily Roll Call

I got this idea from a tobacco addiction site. Not sure if it will work here or not but let's give it a try.
For those of you who would like to make a daily promise to everyone on here you can post roll. The Roll Call is simply a daily promise to stay quit from P for that day. It is a great way to build accountability with your 'quit brothers' and 'sisters'. All you need to do is post your name and how many days quit. Copy and paste from the previous poster so all of our names are in a row together.

Example:

ROLL CALL WEDNESDAY JULY 2
I will not view P or Mb.
(or add whatever addictions you have)

I think its a nice idea in theory SMF, But something I have always tried to battle here is the fact that we are not quitting anything here.

If we set ourselves little goals like x amount of days, it gives you a slight excuse to say "oh well didnt make it today, but i will tomorrow!" Sounds good, but i dont think effective enough for someone who truly wants to end this.

I say make the statement " this is the END!" "NO MORE" "FINISHED"

It sounds a lot more final doesnt it?

Not sure what you mean that we are not quitting anything here? Not sure about you but I'm trying to quit masturbating and viewing porn.

Yes it sounds final, and that's exactly why I would suggest this. For some to say never again or finished is really final and can sometimes be overwhelming. For me I feel it would be easier to take it one day at a time, at least for the first 50 or 100 days or so when you are comfortable looking at the concept of forever.

It also builds accountability by having your promise up there for all to see.

Sorry, I seem to a big problem articulating myself these days.

I have mentioned this before, and I was silly to assume that everyone would know what i was talking about. Sorry

I will try and explain myself. To quit means to give something up. But in actual fact, were not giving anything up. We are gaining a new quality of life, a new mindset a new relationship.

But I have made many mistakes in differing translations from British English to American English. So again sorry.

Its an interesting idea SMF, but not one that I think would really work here. Not all of us log in every day. I do like the idea of a 'Pledge thread' though, where once only, we declare our mission and goals.
