Default Quitting Mastubation.. - 11-11-2007, 10:17 PM
I found an interesting stuff on the web...i guess this is quite useful

MINIMIZE the time you spend alone where you CAN masturbate. As each day goes by, reward yourself for not masturbating; chastise yourself for having thoughts that could lead to masturbation. After a while, you won't want to break your record and you'll find you can go several weeks without masturbating. Also, the more physical things you can do (play sports, work out, etc.) all lead to burning up the testosterone that drives the desire. So - if you feel a desire to masturbate, work off that desire with a walk or some sit-ups, or ride a bike, etc. REPLACE that activity!

I am happy to have found this site. I have recently decided that my usage of pornography has hurt my personal relationships and has become a daily addiction. I have successfully stopped looking at pornographic materials for the past 6 weeks and plan to continue breaking this dependency. But I had never considered that i may have an addiction to masturbation. i have always heard that it is a healthy and normal thing to do. As a male in his late twenties, I always understood my masturbation usually one or two times a day to be acceptable. I am wondering when masturbation becomes an addiction. After reading articles here, i've decided to stop for a week to gain perspective. it is day 1 and I have been successful controlling my thoughts and placing myself in good situations. I feel a physical discomfort, not pain, but definite nervous energy and a strong desire for relief to my cravings. Tonight i am wondering ‘why am i doing this’ but want to stay committed to my goal. Thanks to all here.

You would need to make sure that you don't stay alone when you are idle as thats when your idle mind goes around for a ride and is susceptible to triggers around you. Yes and you would need a letoff a workout and sport activities are recommended and you could actually start a blog or a journal and count the number of days you have been with without porn or mb. So there are many ways to go about quitting this but everything depends on your intent and how much you can persevere.

Rightly said so, you have hundred ways of doing it but if you are not ready to commit then its all a waste.
And again if you made made up your mind then you will find ways yourself.

So stay strong and commited thats what i would say to Lohan and if you believe in God then have faith in him.

Peace

Boy are right about the energy part. I have just arrive here, and have only been off mb for 4 days. I wonder about all the energy that been flushed away by me through the years. Energy that could have been used for my wife and kids, and my own accomplishments. Thanks for that insight. I thank you.

Default When it gets too much...? - 03-02-2008, 12:30 AM
I think of masturbation as a form of self-harm (e.g. like cutting oneself) when it gets past a certain point. If you find that you're getting sore then it's a pretty good indicator that it's harmful to you and your body.

Yes, the nervous sexual energy builds up when you don't masturbate - this can be channelled into other activities. In Eastern culture it is this 'bindu' (not far away from the concept of 'mojo') and holding onto it can make you more energised, fresh and chatty. Releasing it in large quantities via M & P makes for low energy and sociability in my experience.

Yup. I suppose there may be a point where masturbation is simply a natural release if sexual energy in certain circumstances, but I don't think that that's the case for me now.

In fact, I doubt whether masturbation was ever a harmless habit for me. As long as I can remember masturbation has been linked in my mind with feelings of self-loathing and insecurity. Along with a fascination for pornography, I've used masturbation as a way to distract myself from personal issues and problems I should have been dealing with long before now. Like any other addiction, it becomes an obsession blanking out everything else in life.
