Default stages of ED during recovery

ok... well, as i'm a beginner in this recovery i would like to hear from people who have experienced erectile dysfunction issues before starting PA recovery, what were the actual stages of recovery in the sexual functioning?

i have read some experiences both here and along the internet but they are quite confusing... some experience progress during the first few weeks and others are dead down there for almost month and then slowly progress

please be so kind and post your experience, it would be quite helpfull

      Hi ED

My name should be ED also. Sheesh. Who would have guessed that Karma would catch up to me for looking at all that crap.

During my final round of porn (10 weeks ago) I started experiencing ED and then when I fully quit the ED hit full force. There seemed to be no hope. Then I started reading about "ED & rebooting" on a site called YourBrainOnPorn.

There are a ton of "rebooting" stories on that site. The stages of ED are fairly similar for all the guys:

      1. Porn and ED problems= Dopamine levels are totally out of wack. Addicts must "reboot" to get your brain and brain chemicals back to normal.

      2. Stop looking at porn (on the computer and in your head), Stop Mast, etc.

      3. Go through a stage where you can't become "aroused" and where your libido crashes (no desire for sex at all). No hard*ns at night or morning. Nothing. This stage lasts 2 to 4 weeks normally. For me it was 2 weeks and even then I had huge "stage fright" problems when I was intimate with my wife. Because of that we ending up doing a lot of intimate cuddling but no sex. This was and continues to be very helpful for me.

      4. During this time and after my biggest fight was that my brain wanting to look at "head porn" (fantasies). My thought is that if an addict is still looking at porn in their head, the are still looking at porn. I fought head porn (and continue the fight) by (this is going to sound weird) visualizing a green foil wall. If my brain went to fantasy, I switched the thoughts to a green foil wall mediation (not the word I am really looking for, but will work). This worked for me and moved me away from fantasizing. Just to repeat myself, a P addict can't continue to fantasize and recover from ED.

      5. Slowly over the weeks things got back to normal and better. Strong lasting erect**ns, super sensitivity. I also have experienced other benefits which will sound odd: I am happier, my depression disappeared, I am better able to relate and talk to people and I have less stressful feelings during social interactions or when talking to potential clients. When I was a full-blown P addict I think that most people could sense that I was "off" a little. My life is so much better and happier now.

I know that I am a "short-termer" recovery wise, but I do know what worked for me with my ED problems.

P.S. I am 52 and have been an addict for 30 years.
