Default Has anyone tried the S Addiction Risk Assesment??

      Hey all,

I was just wondering if any of you have tried the Sxx Addiction Risk Assesment from Recovery Zone? (don't think I can post links but google can find it if you are interested). Is it any good?

It says that you answer all the questions and then it gives you a profile of your addiction type, behaviours etc.

I'm half interested but you have to pay $30 to take it so if any of you have used I'd like to know if it was useful??

      Thanks

Yes, I took it a couple of weeks ago. Here is a comment from my journal:

"Have been reading up on S, lust, SA and came across Carnes website with a free screening test, followed by a detailed diagnostic test that you have to pay money to do. The free test indicated I had a possible SA, which I already knew, but maybe its a great marketing ploy for the paid test. Anyway I did the paid test, and no surprise was told I had a problem with P and the internet. But on on all the other dimensions of SA I either scored zero or close to zero. So conclusion was reassuring, I have PA but no other manifestations of SA. I sort of knew that, since I had never had slightest interest in any compulsive behaviour in relation to real people. "

My take: if you have concerns about whether your PA extends more generally to other forms of sex addiction, its probably worth the $30 to take the test. He is one of the world's leading experts, and you should get some guidance of one sort or another. In my case, some reassurance.

      Benedict
