      Default Embarrassing question

Alright. This is kind of embarrassing, but I assume most of the people on this side of the board are fellow men. So. Morning wood: what should I do about it? Obviously, since masturbation is something I am abstaining from that isn't an option, but it is incredibly frustrating to wake up in the morning with that kind of challenge. What is the general strategy? Thanks

Wow, good question. and don't be embarrassed to ask, because if you don't ask, you will never get an answer.

For me, I would just think, that we do what we can, to clear our minds, when temptations come to us, to act out. If you wake up with this wood, then if you allow yourself to have thoughts because of it, then the wood will just stay there. We need to have good mind control, when it comes to this addiction. so if you don't want to allow yourself to do anything about the wood problem, then start thinking about something else. think about yard work, think about how much gas cost now days, just put this problem out of your mind, then the wood will start to fall.

LOL damn, why did I even try to answer this one? I am sure you are going to get a lot better responses than what you got from me

If not, use K9 it is free, wont cost you a dime. not only will you save money, but you will save yourself from acting out.... Just a thought

well us old folks still have a problem with it to. I just try to dismiss in my mind. it is hard as hell, (no pun intended) but if we dont get control over it, then we will lose control with it.
I think I will just let someone else answer this now. but a very fair question you have here.

I didn't even realise this was even an issue.

Ok, I am going to go out on a limb and assume that I am not unusual and say that it does go away by itself you know.

      What is this challenge?

I mean, if I had to "deal" with this "challenge" every time and everywhere it arose I am pretty sure I would end up in jail within a couple of days.

This was one of the tougher things for me to deal with, but when I wake up I think about my day and all the things I am going to do, then that usually gives me tons of motivation to get up and get started and it goes away pretty fast. A complicated or at least busy life leaves not much time or thought for MB..

My initial thought: just because its there means you HAVE to . . .???
Its not the "because its there" that defines powerlessness
Its the "means you have to..." that is the epitome of powerlessness.

      Just my two cents

Ignore it, go to the bathroom, continue to ignore it, and the problem takes care of itself.

And a good question (and honest!).

Morningwood has never been a trigger for me, usually the only thing I think of when I wake up is "Oh man I gotta pee!" and the only problem is that it can get tricky to aim, ya know? I am pretty sure it's supposed to happen.
