      Red face I am done!!!

I have been using P of some type, off and on, for over 35 years. About 2.5 years ago, a therapist told me about this site. I joined and logged on rather intermittently. About three months ago, my mind and conscious connected. I have not been on the P sites for 12 weeks. I did have one lapse last weekend, mainly out of being curious, to see if I had overcome this problem. It turns out that I have and the past is just that-past. Good luck to all out there. I know it's cliche to say this, but cliches exist because there is truth behind them. And that is, "If I can do this, anyone can." Good luck to all of you coping with this, and please realize that better times are ahead, and getting rid of this monkey on your back is well worth the effort.

First, Congrats fgd!!! :D Just a few words of advice, if I may. 12 weeks is a long time, but 35 years is longer. DO NOT LET UP!!! Keep doing the work. Keep clean. Very important. Defeating porn itself is great. What about the other problems commonly associated with porn addiction: public leering, lying to significant other and others, mb, etc. Get rid of those two. Happy for you! I will think of your achievement for inspiration during tough times.

      Thanks

I would like to welcome you back to TTF. I see that you first came here in 2008. I also saw, that you did not stay true to your recovery. I in no way, mean to sound harsh, but I feel it is time, that you are done with this crap.

I am going to be 55 in a few months, and I have had problems with different forms of P and MB sense I was about 12 years old. It has destroyed every relationship I have been in. I am not saying, that anyone I was in a relationship with, knew about my problem, but when I say it destroyed all of them is because of what my addiction has done to me. It never allowed me, to be that one true man, that is needed, to keep a relationship going, and going strong. I could never find a way, the right way, to love the woman I was with.

As we are getting older, we see that we want so much more out of life, than what we are receiving right now. So many times, I have wondered, why cant I do this, or why cant I do that? I just chalked it up to maybe I am not good enough, or smart enough to do certain things, or to get certain things out of life. but it came down to one thing, that prevented me from doing so many wonderful thing in my life. that one thing is this, I AM ADDICTED TO ALL UNCLEAN ACTS. I AM A ADDICT.

I have been free from this addiction for very close to 6 months now. and here I am, almost 55 years old, and here I am, seeing, that I am able to do so much in my life now. I am able to do things now, because I do not have that fog that P brings, clogging my brain any more. I have a new sense of feeling, and love for life, that I have never felt in all of my life, up until now.

Yes, so happy to hear, that you have 12 weeks free from this, and that is a big encouragement to us here in seeing this. but I need to ask you something. What are you going to do, that is different this time around, so you can once and for all, beat this crap, and get your life under control now. though you have 12 weeks free, what are you going to do, to get rid of the 30 plus years,of this crap, that you have built up in your mind.

You do have a long road ahead of you my friend, but you can do this. but what you need to do, this time around, is to get very serious in your recovery. make all of the changes, that need to be made, so you can be free from this finally.

Take the needed step, to get clean

If you don't have a filter on your computer, get one on it. K9 is good, and it is free
If you have any file still hidden on your computer, don't wait until tomorrow, delete it NOW
If you have problems with even TV shows that you watch, that can trigger you, stop watching them
If you do not have a great recovery plan to work, put one together, and start working it today.

Once you are free from this crap for a while, you will start feeling so much better about your self, and you will be able to do so much more in life.

Fight this hard this time around. never give in to it. I know that you want your life, to be better, than what it has been like. come here as much as you can, to get the help. you have been here so many times, and you have a few threads started here, but the sad thing is, you never followed through them.

I am not in anyway meaning to make you feel like crap in what I am saying. Look we are the same age, and I do know, what this addiction can do to us in our life. I just want to see you free from this now, and get rid of it, for ever

I hope to see you here, as much as possible, fighting this. and I encourage you, to stick around this time, and let us all try to help you

Good luck to you with your recovery

I Encourage all who think they need it, to please give SAA meetings a chance.

Do you have a internet filter installed on your computer yet?
If not, use K9 it is free, wont cost you a dime. not only will you save money, but you will save yourself from acting out.... Just a thought
