      Default Paying the Price

The other day I was reading the back of a shampoo bottle, (don't ask me why). A slogan read: 'Say yes to beautiful without paying the price'. It got me thinking....

As addicts, we have paid the price for our actions. Broken trust, low self esteem, shame, lost time, lost money. These and many more 'prices' have been paid in full. What did we get for our investment? Destroyed relationships, causing our SOs to feel worthless and inadequate, isolation from reality, inner pain, and many more. What a loss. That being said, we own it, paid in full. It is ours.

There is a way out. It also comes with a price. It will cost us time, soul searching reflection, honesty, will power, possibly money, and accountability. There will be more as we progress. It is an endless investment. We have to keep paying as we go. If we don't nurture our recovery, it can be lost in an instant. The beauty of this is; it will always be there waiting for us to start again if we slip.

The payoff, among other things is; love in its true form, self worth, inner beauty, inner peace, and a desire to help others.

We have made the poor investment. Are we willing to make a winning investment in our most important aspect - ourselves?

Inspiration can come from unexpected sources. Thank you Suave.
