I remember at one point in my addiction I often tried to MB quickly each night so that I could sleep because otherwise I would toss and turn all night with the urge.

I can vouch also that after quitting for an extended period sleep patterns return to normal. I now sleep in a regular pattern and I attribute this to getting over my PA.

Would you be able to tell us more about this? I've got the same problem right now (the wanting to MB in bed each night) and I don't know what to do; I'm in high school, so I really can't afford to lose any sleep on this issue. What was that experience of quitting it like for you?

      Thanks,
      - SK

Arousal and ejaculation release a lot of adrenaline in the body. It basically puts you in a "fight, fright, flight" situation. This is not the best situation to get you asleep. That's why I also had difficulty going back to sleep after MB.

I had the same feelings when I was your age, and it led down a terrible path. Think about this, if you follow the path of P you will eventually end up so alienated from women that you will never have a good relationship with them. It is so important to bear up through the night emmissions and to just concentrate on real, healthy relationships. The more P you do, the more you will look at women as objects, rather than the incredible humans that they are. P will be the downfall of any future healthy relationship as you can have, if you continue it's use. It will affect your outlook on women and eventually distort it very badly. Good luck, deal with the normal body chemistry, and know you are on the right path to deal with this problem over the long run.

This is true. The problem is that a lot of PAs feel stressed for one reason or another (be it attempts to quit PA, or just the 'normal' stress of day to day life), and hence they feel the need to use P to try to 'relax'. This is a flawed strategy for the reason above. Even if you do fall asleep right away after using P, you'll probably wake up in the middle of the night because of what HHH3 describes above.

I think the trick here is to find another way to relax yourself. It might be reading a book before turning out the bed-side light, or if you're really stressed, you might try some exercise just to release the frustration, anything to avoid resorting to P to deal with your stress.

I have realized stop eating animal protein pretty took the urge to MB on a frequent basis, I"m on a low protein diet not just animal protein. Maybe you don't want to stop eating meat, however you can eat less. You should eat no more than half your body weight in ounces.
It is not necessary to eat meat daily, in fact many people do quite well eating once a week. I simply don't have the strong urge to MB, it may take a while, another thing you can do is a cold shower rinse.

I've also noticed this I know myself that I will tend to stay up way later then I should some nights I've fallen asleep at like 5 in the morning for me it was because I would stay up and look for new stuff and sleep kinda took a back seat to P which is just not healthy

100% yes. I have recently got my sleep patterns back on track without M. It took 10 days, but I can finally sleep like I did before I used to M every night.

When I'm in a p binge, I could never sleep past 1:30 or 2 (also accompanied by a junk food binge) . Now I'm out by 12:30.

M so you can sleep is really counter-productive!

totally agree: Everyone -- go to bed with your spouse or partner every single night. no exceptions for work. Night is the worst time for most of us. GO TO BED! No spouse or partner: GO TO BED by 10:00 every night. Early to bed and early to rise makes a porn addict healthy, wealthy and wise. GO TO BED.

      When I'm humble and grateful,

I realize that there is a big hole in my soul.

I used to try to fill it with porn,

      but now

I fill it with loving kindness,

      Sobriety date: February 4, 2010.
