Default Turning point??? - 01-25-2008, 08:14 AM
Just saying hello to others on the forum. After some 30 years of PA, on Monday morning this week, I suddenly realised that I have a BIG problem. A problem that is slowly but surely undermining my health, my self esteem, my career, my marriage, my family - in short all I love and care for. I don't know what happened that morning at about 6 am, after what I hope was my last ever session looking for P on the internet. But I now have an unprecedented clarity of vision on the sorry state of affairs I've allowed myself to slide into. And a great resolve to do something about it.

And I've been clean of P and MB since then. Four days is hardly an achievement, I know. I started looking for online support forums on Monday and quickly came across this one, which looks exactly like what I need. I know I have a long road ahead and it will be hard. I need your support and encouragement. A habit of 30 years will be very hard to break.

I'll tell my sorry tale on this forum in due course, but just wanted to register and say hello now. This is particularly because I'm travelling for work this Sunday for ten days and there will be many, many temptations. I'll need support to keep up my newly found resolve. I thought: the more people know about what I'm trying to achieve, the easier it will be for me to stay on course.

More later and thanks already for the support you've all provided by posting your stories on this forum. You've helped me realise how much of a problem I have and how desperately I need to do something about it. And it's good to know that there are others waging this very battle themselves.

Clog.

Hi Clog, I replied to your other post, but I wanted to welcome you here and I am really happy that you are here looking for change. Reading your post and story so far is an encouragement to me, because it reminds me that I am on the right track, and turning back to a life of pornography isn't an option for me anymore. Sometimes, left to my own devices, I can forget that, or convince myself otherwise, but coming here and reading other people's stories really helps keep me focused on what needs to be done.

Good luck my friend, post that story when you get a chance, you don't realize how many people you can help through telling it!

Have a great weekend
