Default Growing a garden of recovery

      Eating Recovery

D-day was April 3 for me. My SO had confronted me and I decided it was time to get clean.

As those who have read my earlier journal will attest it has been a roller coaster ride.
Withdrawl was quite a struggle for me and a major coping strategy was putting a garden into our new yard. I spent many hours on my knees shoveling and planting and crying.

I distinctly remember carefully pushing each individual crinkely dry corn kernal in to the rich black earth as my tears fell. I was an emotional wreck at times but I prayed, attended SAA and found a great counsellor - and kept gardening !

As I approach 150 days clean of P and M we are eating corn-on-the-cob and slicing into juicy ripe tomato's. The perenial bed had moved through its seasons from daisies to lilies to dahlias and now the gladiolas are 4 feet high.

With the help of many I have grown a garden of recovery

      Dave

Any more stories out there of things you have created with your recovery ?

Beautiful story with the garden there. I have no similar stories yet since I am new at this, but it will come:)

I agree, Odd: it's a beautiful story. Way to go, Dave!

      All the best,

      When I'm humble and grateful,

I realize that there is a big hole in my soul.

I used to try to fill it with porn,

      but now

I fill it with loving kindness,
