I'll tell you what works for me.

1-I don't beat myself up about it because I feel it is an ingrained biological response to be attracted to the female form -but-

2-I tell myself that this woman needs to be loved by a devoted husband and that I hope she has one or finds one

Maybe it sounds corny, but as a married guy the husband thought triggers a whole cascade of subconcious reality checks over what women really want and need, and what real love is about. That seems to shut down the lustful pathway and prevents it from getting obsessive or overly distracting.

      Hope that helps.

I'm pretty new to this so I can't say how well this is going to in the long run. At the moment, my main way of avoiding objectifying is to look away and think of something totally unrelated.

This may have already been said (I know, I just read the thread, but I can't remember exactly), but how about immediately trying to guess what they are thinking about, or what they are dealing with that day? When I think of a woman as a point in her own universe, i.e. a real person with real problems, its a lot harder to think of her as an object. Objects generally don't have problems. :)
