      Anderson,

Funny you mention this. I wonder too: How the 'performers' handle their issues in the P industry. The only way to know for sure would be to gather some psychoanalytic professionals, psychologists, specialists, etc., and interview thoroughly some willing participants, assume they're telling the truth etc., and look at the resutls. In other words a full-fledged scientific survey. Unlikely to happen.

Running on assumption, I figure in general they all come from some sort of majorly-disfunctional household with many burdened or broken relationships; they sought solace in places where they would've been better off doing otherwise, and ended up loving the money and saying 'be-damned' the consequences. Their consciences, being burned as by a hot iron, no longer have much of a voice with so many stacked offenses and none of them dealt with properly. In short, their problems are so deep that not being bothered by their actions is window dressing compared to the real issues. It's scary to think about.

Thank you for your reply Daniel,I think your assumption is reasonable, they must have somrthing maybe a system to protect them,if we can use their method there maybe a breakthrough in our fight against PA.
Apologize for not seeing your reply in time, cause I was not online for a few days.
      Best wishes!

      Anderson,

      You're welcome.

They probably do have a system. I honestly wouldn't want to touch it for my own application. Too much rationalization certainly. I try to remember to pray for them in general, that they will get out while there's still time...

Hang tough in the fight, 'see' you around,

      Default behind addiction

Your question brings another approach to mind.

I suspect that those of us who get addicted to P/M/SX have a special chemistry that makes the P more powerful over us than it is for other people. Some say it is a genetic thing - I lean towards a 'rooted in childhood" interpretation for myself.

As I am working on my first step in SAA I am compiling a detailed sexual history. Without going into all the details I suspect that a few critical experience set me up for a very powerful 'hit' from sex. I can vividly remember my first orgasm. Some in AA talk about knowing from the first drink . . . .

So perhaps those who work in the P industry are drawn from their addiction or they are 'safe' in that sx never hits them the way it hits me.

I am sure that I can never handle P again. I will return to compulsive use and it probably will grow. As a 56 year old I was using it to compensate for natural aging.

More importantly the ethics of using it were halting my soul from living. Too much dissonance, shame, guilt.

I made 150 days clean today and I can honestly say that I seldom miss it. Now if missing M was that simple. But that is getting better as well.

      Take care
      Dave
