      Default Objectifying men?

So I've been watching a bit of straight porn lately... ha, yeah.. go figure. I begin to see what people say about women being degraded in porn etc...

My question is... why don't I see that, or feel that way about gay porn? I mean physically the content is very much same. Theres no different in the acts that are occuring.

I guess my theory is that it seems wrong to degrade woman because with them its pretty obvious they're not into it, and gay guys usually are?

Am I being pretty naive? I'd be interested to hear other thoughts on this matter.

I guess I've debated this same issue a lot (with myself!), Scooter. I no longer focus on this question, because I realize that the most important issue (for me) is that looking at p is a problem for me, an addiction. So whether it objectifies women or men, whether it's fantasy or whatever, it's a problem for me as a viewer. I need it, crave it, and I am helpless (or at least almost helpless) when I try not to look. Analogy: if drinking is healthy for the heart or unhealthy for the heart, for my alcoholic friend, the issue doesn't matter much -- he needs to take steps to never drink even a drop of it. Hmmm...I'm not sure if my analogy is useful. I hope that at least it's not obnoxious! Do I sound preachy?! Hope not. I think I'll go for a jog right about now!

Scooter, it's great (as always) to hear from you! Thanks! Dave

      When I'm humble and grateful,

I realize that there is a big hole in my soul.

I used to try to fill it with porn,

      but now

I fill it with loving kindness,

Dave, you make a good point. The issue with PAs is not who is objectified or degraded in these films, photos, etc. It's all lethal to the PA even if "no animals were harmed in the making of this film."

To the heroin addict, the harm to them doesn't come from the scores of victims the illegal drug industry has left in its wake. It comes from what it does to the them- physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Same with us PAs.

I don't think you're too preachy at all. If one wants to rid the world of P, one has to make himself P free first. Then if we want, we can worry about who is being objectified.

      Keep up the fight,
