It took me a long time to learn that anger was really hurt. But I would rather lash out than be vulnerable and fearful. I'd rather appear powerful.
Right now, (although I haven't had any reason to be angry) the hurt or fear I want to express still comes secondary to the anger.
Its after I'm angry and then 'analyze it' so I can make ammends, that I can recognize the reason I felt hurt, etc.
It turns into a feeling in the heart rather than in the gut.
And I'm practicing recognizing that in my husband, and others.
I look forward when it can be the primary thought, statement that comes from my mouth instead of reacting.
Anyway, just my added two cents!

I've mentioned it a couple of times on this forum, but I would encourage the use of self-help tapes (and I'm not talking about the ones that are 'magic' or 'quick fixes'. I believe that the successes in my life thus far are very much attributed to the different authors I have listened to.

I am male and 23 years old. My first post on TTF is here. Please read it! ;)

And this is my journal here.
