      Default Whatcha Doin For YOU?

      Self care is so important. Are you taking time for yourself? Not just time to work on yourself in relation to PA/SA (that's important) but time just for you and personal development..

      Over the years I've found it difficult to really invest in myself. There just never seemed to be enough time or I felt guilty taking the time away from my husband and family.

      Lately I'm taking the "oxygen mask on an airplane" example to heart. You know, if you don't put your oxygen mask on first you can't be sure you can really help anyone else

      So here are some of the things I'm doing for me as of late:

      01.) Joined Weight Watchers (I'm a comfort eater from wayyyyy back)
      02.) Am actually going to the YMCA vs just paying the bill (Water Aerobics FTW)
      03.) Started a gratitude journal that I use to ground myself in the evenings after the kiddos are all in bed.
      04.) This fall I went back to school after being laid off. I'm finally persuing the career of my passion.
      05.) Joined S-Anon and am working on selecting a sponsor.

      There are so many other things on my "bucket list" and not all of them are just for me.

      I commented in another thread that I would rather die than run, but at the moment, I am feeling my body want to RUN, its the weirdest thing ever. So, I am hitting the treadmill.

      Otherwise, gardening.

      Today is mothers day so I am going to do spend the day finishing a painting I started many moons ago.

      I agree its important to take care of yourself, it comes naturally to me in some ways, but not in others.

      2. Gonna plant flowers tomorrow
      3. Eating lighter, moving my body more

      I am sitting in the sunshine with a glass of wine, listening to the birds sing and watching the chipmunks run.
      I have a feeling of accomplishment from all I have accomplished today and am looking forward to a nice dinner and a campfire with my sweetie.
      Life just doesn't get any better than this!

      Getting a POST Mother's day massage on Wednesday
      Try to take a weekly bubble bath after the kids are in bed
      Get as much sleep as possible (which is difficult with 3 toddlers and a demanding job)
      mmmmm more sleep?? hahaha

      I ran a 5K today! I also bough shoes, had a yummy dinner out and now I am drinking a glass of wine.

      I also decided to try and do something special for my husband everyday, which is really for me too. I have been pretty passive in this whole marriage re-building thing, so now I am trying to be more active and this is a step for me.

      Happy mother's day to all!
      TTF- The suckiest place to have to be but the best place to be if you have to be somewhere like this.

      Its hard to quit something when you just like it so much. I have that problem with ice cream, but I can run off ice cream. Can you run off P?

      Wohoo! So glad to see us doing small and larger things for ourselves. A 5K is awesome! I did one (just walking) last year and hope to do others.
