      Default Hi

Just wanted to say hi - finally! :D

I've been reading through the forums for a while now (feel like I know you all, already!) but haven't have time to actually sit down and write properly yet...so I thought I'd just say a quick(ish) hello and come back to talk properly later!

Quick background, however: my husband and I have one child (10 months old, and the reason I've not had time to post until now!) and my husband has thankfully got to the point - via quite a few emotional scenes, a 9-page missive and a few more emotional scenes on my part - where he's willing to get rid of all porn from his life. I have suggested he might like to join this site also - we'll see how that one goes.

So thank you to all of you for the stories and words of advice (albeit to others!) that I've been reading. I wrote my "bombshell" letter to him last year, feeling completely alone and unable to talk to anyone about it but having reached the end of my tether. I had no idea this site - or any other anti-porn site - even existed then...I wish I had known! However when I did find Through the Flame it was such a relief to realise I'm not the only one in this situation and going through these feelings - and even more, that I am not the only one who has a problem accepting porn in my household: it's not "just a harmless guy thing" as much of society would have us believe!

Onward and upward, I best go and see how much of the pot cupboard my son has left intact while I've been typing.

Thank you again, I hope to be back to post again soon.
      :)

Hi Fairy G, I saw your avatar (still have no idea what that word means) a few days back and read your resume and wondered what your story was. You are most welcome here and thanks for not just sitting back and accepting it as a 'guy thing' as so many do. As a guy I find it very difficult in this world of sexual stimulants to keep my eyes from straying and it is a big help to know that others are there to support me, but this website and the support of my loving wife is the best help I have ever recieved. Your hubby I am sure will conquer this with your support.

      Hi Dominus,
Well I always thought an avatar was some sort of deity incarnate - but I guess I'm just not as computer literate as I thought! :D
Thanks for your message - I suspect it will be a difficult road for both of us for a while yet (I know I'm still having my good and bad days - today being a good one!) so it's really nice to know there will be support there when it's needed...and that I/we will hopefully be able to help others in similar situations also at some stage.
Keep up the good work, you're doing a great job advising and inspiring others! :)

Deity Incarnate, Wow! I hoped for a few things from this website, but divinity wasnt one of them! Or is it just the picture thats divine??

Well there you go - you never know where you'll find divinity, huh?! Unfortunately however I suspect it's just the pictures that get divinity bestowed upon them in this case...I certainly haven't managed to achieve it myself yet (though not for lack of trying, naturally ;)). Mind you, I'll keep an eye out for any TTF-inspired epiphanies that could yank us all into the realms of divinity to keep our pictures company :D

It occurred to me tonight that you do not have a journal. So I did some searching to find signs of it somewhere else, and found this thread. I was just curious because of all the wonderful insight you disperse elsewhere on Tff I wanted to read your story...have you considered writing one?

Anyway, thanks for all you do.
      Peace and love,
      Crys

It was difficult to pick 3 people who had assisted me on TTF as so many had in various ways, but your name just kept coming up. I wasnt sure which thread to post in, this seemed most appropriate.

Since you first came along I have been bowled over by your seemingly indefatigable cheerfulness, humour and unselfish concern for others, it truly has been an inspiration to me. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, well every time I read your posts I find myself saying "I want to be more like that", one of my new years resolutions is to be more positive, so consider yourself flattered!

I know you have been occupied with your pregnancy and havent had much time to post, but I can see you have been looking in from time to time. I hope everything is ok with your baby, hows things on that front?

      Have a great new year.

      Your friend

      Dominus.

PS I finally know what an Avatar is thanks to James Cameron!

Okaaaaaay...now I feel dreadful, I only just saw the last 3 posts in this thread!!! I can possibly be forgiven for missing Dom's one until now, given that it's "only" a couple of months old...but Crys and Abbie, if you ever come online here any more, please accept my heartfelt apologies for not noticing this before now! Perhaps I'll find time, sometime in the next few years, to comply with your request ;-)

      Dom,

Good old Mr Cameron! I'm jealous of your knowledge - I have yet to see the film, given that the baby has somewhat stifled my ability to go out to movies at present (just at the wrong time, there are so many good ones on at the moment!) but I hope to be similarly enlightened at some point soon :D

More seriously, however, thank you so much for your kind words - they truly are flattering, and nicely uplifting on an otherwise rather exhausting day :) (And as one of my own resolutions this year is to be more positive, there you go - instant flattery in return).

As for the baby...she is divinely delicious in character, and she and my toddler son are the shining lights in my world - definitely (well, mostly!) worth going through the other stresses in life in order to have them in my life :) That said, they're by no means saintly, and are also true tests of my patience, tolerance, temper and imagination - not to mention eardrums! But would I have it any other way? Nah...better to climb straight up the side of the mountain of motherhood and leave the beaten path to everyone else!!

How's everything in your world? Your baby must have been born sometime around mine, surely? (I'll trawl the journals later for more info, apologies if you've already given that info out!).

      Big hugs,
      G :)
