After all the struggle, the grief, the realization that you are putting your own happiness into someone else's hands, this might be a good place to start a new path:
Abundant Spirituality + codependency recovery + inner child healing = Joy2MeU
The term CO-DEPENDENCY is such a phrase that made me think "I am not co-dependent", but truth is, MANY of us are. We look for others to make us happy. We depend on others to make it all ok for us. Ain't gonna happen. There comes a time in our adulthood that we realize we cannot continue with the same things we've been doing all of our lives.
Even if you don't find the above website helpful, learning what codependency really means could be eye opening, not just for SO's, but Addicts as well. I have found that researching co-dependency has brought to light some things that have been buried and disguised and repressed.
At the end of the day, when we lay our head down at night, when we are feeling abandoned, shunned, not respected, beat up, angry, We all must stand alone. Take care of your spirit, it is the only thing in your life that is never changing, permanent. Everything else can fall away, leave, die, rot, change, but your own spirit is all you have. Find it. Learn it. Embrace it!
