      Smile Tell us about you!

I thought it would be a cool idea to have a part of this site where we could get to know a bit more about the members. In the regular forums we hear about peoples views/opinions and problems, but it can all be a bit impersonal, and negative.

I am a university student... am studying business/management and will hopefuly graduate next year. I enjoy techno/dance music and movies. I have been to Japan twice and speak fluent Japanese. Love the food too. I am a member of Toastmasters (gain confidence through public speaking). I consider myself Agnostic (I dont have any firm religious beliefs, but am open to the possibility). I'm a bit of a computer geek and spend most of my free time here on the net.

So... tell us about you :)

I play classical guitar (have done rock and jazz but classical guitar is my main love!), i used to play piano, flute and timpani. I draw animals (mostly horses) when i get the time, and have sold quite a few on commision :)

      That's me!

      This isn't a bad idea! :)

I am a college student, I'm studying Maths, English, Chemistry and History. I am a vegetarian and am generally sympathetic to animal rights movements, environmental groups (e.g. Greenpeace) and left-leaning politics. I play acoustic guitar now (not too well mind ;)) and I used to play electric violin. I have been Catholic, Protestant, Pagan and atheist. At the moment I am atheist with the odd paganish belief.

I listen to a lot of different types of music (Rock, punk, metal, folk, classical, country, latin ect) but my favourite artists are Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, NIN, Gogol Bordello, Bright Eyes, Arlo Guthrie, Within Temptation...I could go on. :)

      Well thats me...

The world is in a constant conspiracy against the brave. It's the age-old struggle: the roar of the crowd on the one side, and the voice of your conscience on the other. - Douglas MacArthur

"'Thou mayest rule over sin,' Lee. That's it. I do not believe all men are destroyed. I can name you a dozen who were not, and they are the ones the world lives by. It is true of battles - only the winners are remembered. Surely most men are destroyed, but there are others who like pillars of fire guide frightened men through the darkness. 'Thou mayest!' What glory! It is true that we are weak and sick and quarrelsome, but if that is all we ever were we would, millenniums ago, have disappeared from the face of the earth. A few remnants of fossilised jawbone, some broken teeth in a strata of limestone, would be the only mark man would have left of his existance in the world. But the choice, Lee, the choice of winning!" - East of Eden by John Steinbeck

I'm 32 years old from Stockholm, Sweden. I work in software. Easy job and good money so far. Since quitting P and MB I'm all about getting real girls. Maybe this will pass but it is my no 1 interest for now. I host travelers from other countries for free in my appartment. Feels great to share and give things and helps me stay away from P. I work out a lot and play floorball. I like almost any person I meet. I take a 36 minute bus to work each day. On weekends I go out with friends. I like to look strangers in the eye and see if they will stare back or look away as fast as possible. One guy looked back for 17 seconds. I take financial risks. I invest money I don't own in the stockmarket. I like to travel and see the world. I love food and drinks. My no 1 world concern is world poverty.

OMG LOL, doesn't that weird people out? You must have a pretty high level of confidence to do that. I'm the type of person that will likely look away as soon as I make eye contact.

Well try it, you'll be surprised of what you are capable of. It's a bit weird but who cares, it does make you more relaxed with eye contact and that is something that is good for both you and the people you meet in your everyday life, I think.

Such a great idea, guys! Very interesting thread. As for me, I am a rising senior in college, and I am a premedical student here majoring in Biological Sciences. I am currently doing veterinary research in Immunology, and applying to medical schools this year. I also am in a sorority, and have an administrative position, Vice President of Communications, and I love my position. Right now I'm planning a huge event for alumnae, which I'm sure will be a blast. I love running, biking and swimming, and still enter a lot of races, both in running and in triathlon. What else? I'm an atheist, used to be Anglican for many years. I am somewhat activist in reducing discrimination against atheists in America, on and off, when I have time, but certainly no Richard Dawkins. I still support the Anglican Church, because they are good people working towards a good cause, so interesting mixed history with religion. Other than that, I have a very cute boyfriend named Jason that I love very much. He is studying Environmental Engineering and loves to play baseball. We are in an intramural softball league together, and it is a lot of fun.
