Default Firefox 3 - 06-17-2008, 03:05 AM
w00t . . . to all you who use firefox. Firefox 3 is being released tomorrow, and yes, this is my extreme geekyness coming out. I've been beta testing firefox 3 "grand paradiso" for quite some time now, and its a beautiful web browser. It woops anything out there right now. Mozilla, the creators of firefox, want to set a Guinness World Record. They want to set a record for the most downloads of a software in 24 hours. The release date is this Tuesday (tomorrow). You can go to the website Mozilla | Firefox web browser & Thunderbird email client and click on "Help firefox set a world record" and learn more about it.

*I can't wait lol, I'm waiting up all night to download it, I'm that excited. If the main paragraph didn't tell you how excited I am, then this last sentence should haha.

Scratch that, I won't be staying up. The Fixed Time World Clock

Those are the official times. Just search for your state/providence/blob of land/UK area (I said that because of dominus and foolishmind hehe) and it will show the time its released and what time it will be at your place that its released. yay to firefox. It will be mid day for me tomorrow, not the morning so I get to sleepy.

you wont need session manager . . . Its built into firefox now. You save your work space, it does it automatically for you. It has so many other awesome features, it rocks.

. . . on a sadder note . . . the download site has been down since I've tried going to it, which its been about 45 minutes lol. I'm sure their scrambling all over the place trying to get the download site back up.

Do you happen to know if UnPlug will retain functionality or is it built in too? I used it to grab my Skate. clips from their website.

Just downloaded it. Really like it, very clean and crisp.

I thought it was a really nice really easy install. I didn't uninstall Firefox 2, I just installed 3 over top of it (I figured it was designed to do that) and it was. After installing it, it went through and checked all my plug ins, addons and themes to see if they were compatible. It said that 3 of them weren't but it had a comment at the bottom that said "check to see for compatible versions of your old plugins" or something like that and a button to click that was "yes" and on that was "no" I clicked "yes" and it found Firefox 3 compatable versions of my old plugins. I was very happy. Also all my customized toolbars were still customized the way I wanted them, browsing history in tact and bookmarks on the proper pages.

I've always liked Firefox's ease to use and customize. I mean, it's not like IE was hard to use but Firefox just keeps getting better.
