Can we start one about music, I love music. What's your favorite type? Do you play any instruments? Favorite lyrics? yadda yadda

Love is the rhythm of two hearts beating
Poundin' out a message steady and true
Talk to me baby tell me what you're feelin'
I know what love is
What's it to you

I'm down, I love music.

I'm into almost everything, except country/western. Bluegrass isn't included in that, though. The genre I listen to most has to be heavy rock, that sort of thing. Love classic rock, Journey, that kind of thing. Every now and then there's a rap song I dig on for a while. Jazz, acid jazz, jazz funk, classical, little of everything. A good opera tune now and then is nice.

One of my favorite bands of late is Coheed and Cambria, an interesting group from New York. All of their studio albums are actually part of a sci-fi story (that I have no understanding of) and tell the different tales of a kid in the future. I think. My signature came from one of their songs.

I also love the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Anthony and John are lucky to be alive after all the drugs they did.

I'm very, very slowly learning to play guitar and bass. I can tool around a little, but as far as actual songs I can really only do songs that rely on power chords. Which, as it turns out, is a large number. Bass is a different story, where at best I can replicate the verses from YYZ by Rush. It's the same as on the guitar, though.

Just for kicks to end this long post, before people start thinking "too long, didn't read," my top five favorite songs:

1. Derek and the Dominos: Layla
2: The Allman Brothers Band: Jessica
3. Manfred Mann's Earth Band: Blinded by the Light
4. Stevie Ray Vaughan: Pride and Joy
5. Coheed and Cambria: In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth

I love rock, heavy metal, and classic rock. I'm not into country or rap. I do love the sound of a marching band tho! I can somewhat play the guitar, sax, flute, and piano, somewhat being I play till I make 1 mistake then start over so I never finish a song lol.

My favorite band of all time is The Beatles of course, I have been listening to alot of pantera and system of a down lately! I can't choose my top 5 is too hard!

Sweet! I've found there's 4 groups of people regarding Coheed: People who love 'em, people who hate them, people who've never heard of them, and Rouge, who thinks they're just OK. (love you, honey =P)

Odds are good you've heard it, just didn't know. It was a remake of a Springsteen song, and in my opinion the cover is better. It's been in countless movies. The lyrics are always a point of controversy, as the chorus goes: "Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night." Well, some people think the line is something else entirely. I'm not gonna say here, though!

Country and rap all sound alike at the end of the day. Rap has a few exceptions for me though. Jurassic 5 had a cool sound, kind of different than most rap groups.
Gnarls Barkley, while not true rap, had an absolutely brilliant debut album.

In Keeping Secrets was the first song I learned to play on guitar. I have about 40% of Claudio's part, and roughly .015 of Travis'.

Gotta love the Beatles. I adore Hey Jude. And I wouldn't stress a top five, the ones I picked were just ones I always enjoy hearing.

Ohh yah ok I know which one it is now, just took me a minute! Yah I have my few songs I like by coheed and cambria, but I'm not all crazy over them. The Beatles were kinda pounded into my head, my mom is a beatle FREAK! I don't particularly care for rap because I like words and lyrics, I mean tone is nice to but I really listen to lyrics, country always just brought me down, I have a joke about it but I don't want to offend anyone. And Jessica is the funnest song to play on guitar hero, along with paint it black. lol i'm sucha dork!!:p.
well my top 5 on playlist lately have been
1. Josephine by the wallflowers
2. Far Away by Nickleback (not usually a band I listen to)
3. Push by Matchbox 20
4. Forest by System of a Down
5. This Love by Pantera

At moment, I'm listening to a piano instrumental. If you've ever seen a commercial for the NBA, the "Where amazing happens" ones, that's the song. It's called "Everyday Piano" but I forget the artist. Really good stuff.

And if you can play Jessica, you have infinitely more talent/skill than I do. =(

Oh, I entirely missed the word "hero." Whoops! Yeah, GH2 was great. I was ecstatic when I moved to hard and expert. Rouge and I play Rock Band together. She'll sing, and I'll play guitar. When I get some expendable cash, I'm gonna get a second guitar controller and she can play bass and I can sing and play guitar. =D It's especially fun on hard, cause occasionally I'll forget I should be singing, too. =\

There's a video of a kid playing Dragonforce's Through the Fire and the Flames on expert and getting something like 975 thousand. Mind blowing. Though, I can play the intro to that for real. It isn't as hard as GH makes it appear to be. Just trem pick and overhand the hammer ons and pull offs.

No, she's not big into games like I am. Rock Band was something we both could enjoy, which is why we got it. And while it is pricey, the special edition bundle is easily the most economic option. 120 for one of each peripheral.
