I have an idea what C++ is but I'm not exactly sure, I have been wanting to figure out how I could do something with myself to keep busy and I'm a huge nerd.

The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheaply, we esteem too lightly; 'Tis dearness only that gives everything its value.

Hello cmperry, I'm really sorry, I'll have to delay this to another time because I have to do some other stuff those days .. so if you want to start, read whatever book you like, but I recommend Bruce Eckel's : Thinking in C++ .. this guy is a genius and his books are just amazing.. there are many difficult concepts that he succeeds in explaining much better than most of the books out there..

If anyone is still interested in this, I suggest you download Microsoft's Visual Studio Express, it's free and will get you atrted using the language.

      Visual Studio 2008 Express Editions

PS you'll also get to use Visual Basic etc.
