Something A Bit Lighthearted...

I have been thinking today about all of the support that this site has offered me. Either directly, through people offering their thoughts on my journal or just the possibility to read the story of others.

Everyone here is a real person, with a life, a family and everyday worries and problems. It's sometimes difficult to remember that, after all I only know about how PA has affected you and one other thing - Your screen name and profile picture.

Only recently have I been able to get the image of Rowlf from the muppets out of my head when I read a post by him, now I imagine Rowlf to look like Rolf Harris! HalfPint will always be the pint of milk from the Blur music video and FoolishMind - I'm afraid he's just a monkey!

I wondered whether anyone else had funny images of the members here in their minds?

I must admit AE has always been batman-shaped to me! It's weird how Avatars and profile names become part of you. I mean I know some of the member's real names but I still think of them as their profile name anyway!

Where would we all be without FM - Foolish Monkey :) or Foolish Mind the Field Marshall of the P-free army! Such a cool dude!

Well I don't have a beard or an aussie accent!

It is funny how our identity is determined by the bits we choose to show. I chose Rowlf as he represents a quality of love and wisdom that I aspire to. I often think the muppet show was a perfect metaphor for living with others in loving chaos!

I thought for ages Vorlan's tag was Vorlon - as in the angels from Babylon 5 :D:-o

Dave's aurora icon always makes me think of backwoods Canada, and LL's got a medieval flavor :)

Oooerrrr, I have just beeen having my daily wander around the TTF forums and think this would be better placed in the 'off topic' area. So any moderators that come in here, don't tell me off just move it!

I think Little Lock's 'L' reminds me of the Bully game. I don't know whether it's the font, anyway I'm sure he is a much nicer dude than that horrible kid off of the game anyway.

I really must sort my pic out, I keep uploading pics that show in my profile but never on any posts that I write. Maybe I am getting it wrong. *Yippee Done It!*

Rowlf, I am sad that you aren't Rolf Harris in real life. It wouldn't be too hard for you to grow a beard and take up the wobble board now would it?

And I have noticed FM seems to get a lot of nicknames. I just can't get that monkey out of my mind. Maybe he has excessive body hair and looks like an extra from Planet of the Apes?

I was just reading this post as a guest, and I laughed out so loud! I simply had to log in!
Yes it is true I am just one big hair ball!

But to put some serious meaning to it, I chose my avatar the day my wife sent me the letter, and i gave it a lot of thought actually. Ultimatley i decided what I was doing was evil, so chose the monkey depicting 'see no evil' from the see no evil, hear no evil speak no evil trio.

I thought it was quite fitting!

Wobble board practice starting soon! Although I actually prefer to sing (in 4 part harmony groups). Can paint by throwing paint a wall though - does that count? (Can you guess what it is yet?)

That's interesting that you sing in a group Rowlf, I also sing in a choir (well, lots of them) but mainly in a chamber group that does lots of a capella stuff - like the Swingle Singers, but not as good!

My L was taken off the japanese movie Deathnote and Deathnote 2. In those movies there was this weird but cool detective called L who was a major character, and I thought "Hey, if I'm called LL why not use his avatar?"

And yes Vorlan what exactly does your avatar mean? I always thought it was some random smear of colour. I like Vilema's one though. It fits her:) Daniel's one makes no sense at all to me. Its a bulldozer, no? And glovert's one is similar, its a helicopter 0.0
