I used to think it was okay. I used to think it was okay to succumb to the powers of porn until recently.

It had taken a firm grip on my life and I was in need of relief so I turned to pornography. Over the months of masturbation it had taken over my mind, body and soul.

I was jacking it every spare minute. In the bathroom at work, kids soccer practice, company luncheons. I even jacked it while in line at the super market!

It was even a drain on my wallet. I had all the latest gizmos, but they were only to aid my masturbation addiction. My 80gb ipod had 77 gigs of porn on it, my gps's only stored destination was to the porn store, I had powerpoints filled with porn pictures to look like I was being productive while at work and I even filled my bedside books with porn pictures!

I have since throttled down a lot and my hand is at rest. I now can go hours without urges and I do not get any more funny looks while in public. Luckily I have found peace with God and he has shown me the way. Never let masterbation take ahold of your life.

It's amazing how easy it is to let pornography suck you in completely, isn't it? There's isn't one person here who hasn't let porn lead them to do things that they are immensely ashamed to admit having done. I admire your willingness to be honest.

You're sure to get a lot of very good advice from others in this forum, but let me make one specific suggestion. Try to make it through one entire day without one single shred of pornography, which includes anything that stimulates you in that way. You've got to get one perfectly clean day under your belt before you can really begin your fight. Don't get me wrong--it sounds like you've already made a lot of progress, and that's really impressive. But you'll be surprised at how wonderful it feels to dig in and take one whole day for yourself to be totally free of porn.

Good luck, RJ, and welcome to the forums.

AE
