Lightbulb hello~its time to reach out

I'm relieved to find this forum-have been dealing with my spouses' PA over 15 yr.'s..It IS traumatic, and I need help navigating thru this anxiety, depression, and disillusionment.Time to reach out.I live way out in the country,so resources are few and far between.Loneliness has been a sad friend.Having the option to go online and communicate feelings about this is a welcomed relief.

      Welcome Rettajane!
I am glad you have found your way here. You are not alone anymore. There is a wonderful group of SOs here who will lend support and encouragement to you now that you are here. We all know what you are feeling. We have been there as well. That will hopefully give you comfort Rettajane. Knowing that you are not the only one can make us feel less alone for sure.
I encourage you to start a journal in the SO section of the forums Retta! And come back often. I hope you find TTF to be the blessing in your life that it has been in mine.
      All the best!
      Jenn

Hi RettaJane, welcome to TTF. I am sorry that you find yourself in a position where you need a support site like this, but so happy that you were able to find TTF in your time of need. It has been a life-line for many, myself included. I am an SO here and I have found tremendous support from both other SO’s and PA’s here alike.

I am including several links to article here on TTF that I strongly encourage you to read. They are safe articles, no triggers, and they really helped me feel like I wasn’t alone.

This is the link to the articles page:
TTF community forums - Articles for partners
And this is to a specific article that I think you should read…this is the one that made me realize that I wasn’t alone in what I was feeling:
TTF community forums - Trauma to SOs
I hope they make a difference for you.

I also suggest reading through both the SO and PA recovery journals, and start a journal of your own so we can follow your journey. Good luck RettaJane, I wish you the best.
