      Default New here

Hello all. My story is one that would probably blow your minds, and one you might not believe. That, coupled with the fact that this is my first post here leads me to be hesitant to share the whole thing just yet. So just the basics, I have been hooked on P for about 20 years now. I came here because I can use some aid. I would like to get to know some of you on a personal level, as I cannot see myself facing this in a real-life group setting so I turned to the internet. Please feel free to pm me if interested. Hope to post more soon.

      Hi Crusader,
Welcome to TTF. We are a mixed group of people with different paths but a common problem. In one way or another P has affected our lives and has caused problems for us. I am hoping you take the time to read some of the journals here and increase your determination to get rid of this infection by reading many of the articles in the general discussion. P is all lies, it confuses people as to what is normal, it benefits no one but the p purveyors who laugh at those of us who have been harmed by it, as they go to their banks and access their big accounts.
I am hoping you keep posting in your journal, as it is sure to draw some responses from our community. The goal here is to support, be positive, share what has worked, and try not to be judgmental. It is also anonymous, so you don't have to worry about running into someone while in the produce section who wants to know how the XXX is going for you. While anonymous, you sometimes end up sharing things with others here that can be discussed no where else.
We have more and more people coming here everyday, and I can only see more and more destruction in people's lives until the word gets out that p is really harmful and potentially addictive.
Stimulus created from s-x-al images travel the brain's circuitry 20% faster than other stimuli. The brain can actually experience remodeling as the person goes from casual use to addiction. We are wired to experience stimulation of this nature as pleasant and have the pleasure centers of our brains stimulated. However, this much stimulation results in overload, and eventually, rats with electrodes wired to comparable pleasure centers will press a lever to activate the pleasure center rather than eat or show interest in a receptive female.
Good luck with your journey here. Hope this is a positive experience for you and that you come away feeling stronger in your resolve, and that you have a place where there are people who care and "get" what your struggle is.

Hi Crusader, welcome to TTF! I am glad you have made the choice to seek out help from this site. That is an excellent step in the direction of recovery! I have some tips for starting your recovery here:

--Get rid of any/all p*** that you have on your computer, in your home, anywhere…having it there is just temptation you don’t need
--Read through PA recovery journals…many have incredible stories and great tips for what works for their recovery
      --Read through the SO journals
      --Start a recovery journal here
--Get an internet filter for your computer (K-9 is free, and the one myself and my fiancé use), giving someone else the password

Take your time telling your story. No one will pressure you to tell more than you are comfortable with. TTF provides a safe place for recovering addicts and SO’s to help each other through recovery together. Good luck with your recovery, and I hope to read more of your posts soon!

Hello Crusader and welcome to TTF! There are many long time addicts here, the site is all about support and strategies to overcome our addictions.

I am a long time addict myself. I can tell you that there is hope for anybody who is willing to do the work. It is a long hard path, but one that is very rewarding once you start to see the way out.

We all have different stories. The common link is the fact that we went back to our addictive behaviors even though we knew the devastating results of our actions.

Please look around the site and read some of the recovery journals. When you are ready, you can start your own. More than anything else, check in often. We have to keep our recovery where it belongs - on top of our list of priorities.

Yet each struggle, each defeat, sharpens your skills and strengths, your courage and your endurance, your ability and your confidence and thus each obstacle is a comrade-in-arms forcing you to become better..... or quit. Each rebuff is an opportunity to move forward; turn away from them,...avoid them, and you throw away your future." -Og Mandino
