      Default Brand New

I am bipolar and hypersexuality is how my symptoms present. I cycle rapidly and am often taken by surprise by my addiction. I often don't realize what's happening until I'm already in the thick of things. I think I've had this addiction since adolescence.

I am not religious so am hoping I do not need to talk or accept religious belief here. Looking for practical support from others who know how disgusted, hollow and exhausted this addiction can make one feel.

I'm always afraid of arrest (I also have OCD) when I inadvertently come across online images I don't seek and know can't be legal or when I act-out on chat forums (only once but it scared the h*ll out of me). Don't worry, no more details beyond that.

Glad (i hope) to have found this site.

      Welcome to TTF
I am glad that you have chosen to come here to get the much needed help in your recovery. the one thing that you need to understand, is that you can not do this on pure will power alone. there are many things that really need to happen, if you are to be free from this addiction

You must clear all files on your computer, that contain any P. you can not wait until a better time to do this, so it needs to be taken care of right now. all it takes to do this, is hitting the delete button.

If you do not have an internet filter on your computer, I would highly recommend that you put one on. there must be no way, of you being able to get to any sites, that can harm your recovery.

Learn what your triggers are. with this addiction, it is more than want we see on the computer, that will make us want to act out, and give in to P. even if you have a favorite show that you love to see on TV, if there are things in this program, that can trigger you, well no matter how much you love this show, you may need to stop watching it.

Our old life style will not work in our recover. we need to become a new person, with new thoughts in our head, and our hearts. we need to change our way of thinking, our ways of viewing things, and even change our reading material.

Only you know what it is that needs to be changed in your life. so this is what you need to do right now. look at yourself good, and see what it is that YOU need to do, to get rid of this addiction.
If you are to find yourselves a good recovery plan that works for you, and if you work it hard, there is no reason that you can not free yourself from this.

If you want freedom bad enough from P, then you will do what it takes from your heart, to fight this addiction

come here as much as you can, to read in others journals, to see what they are doing in there life, to fight this battle, and coming out a winner with it.

Start your own journal, write in it as much as you can, so we can see where we can help you with your recovery.

Just by you being here, you see that you have a PROBLEM, that needs to be taken care of. so take care of it now, and become free from this addiction.

You are not alone in this, because if you do all you can to help yourself, there are many others here will to help you also

Good luck to you in your recovery. YOU CAN DO THIS.

Do you have a internet filter installed on your computer yet?
If not, use K9 it is free, wont cost you a dime. not only will you save money, but you will save yourself from acting out.... Just a thought

I applaud you for joining. Mental illness is real, and unfortunately predisposes us with it to be more likely to fall into the addiction of pornography. Please start a journal and keep the commitment to coming back and staying porn free. I'd personally recommend you find some activities you can do while in the state of mania that are productive; exercise, writing, etc.

      Best,

I wanted to write about the moment when your addictions no longer hide the truth from you. When your whole life breaks down. That's the moment when you have to somehow choose what your life is going to be about.
