      Default I need help

      Hello everyone,

It is good to read all of your posts. I am addicted to pornography. It has been a part of my life for a very long time. Renting videos got progressively worse for me, but the internet has made it impossible to stay in any kind of control. It just makes it all too easy. The images are in my mind day and night. I crave it every day.

I have taken some good steps. About a year and a half ago I went to a minister who is a counselor, and I had several good and helpful sessions with him. It is good to be able to speak the truth about this to someone!

I confided in a close friend at about the same time. He agreed to walk this road with me, and he checks in with me often to share his support.

I want to quit. But it really is difficult. I have gone for weeks at a time, and I thought things were getting easier, then I simply caved in and jumped back into it.

It's always going to be one day at a time for me.

Let me first say Hello and Welcome to TTF

It is so nice to see that you are aware that you have a addiction, and that you want help with it. You have come to the best place for that help that YOU and ALL of us here need. Porn can sneak up on us at any time, and can take full control over us. It has destroyed so many families. As with any other addictions, that we try to stop, withdraws or craving do come into play. Try to focus your mind on other things, so you can overpower the bad thoughts, and put in new. You are so right when you said that the internet makes it so easy to access P sites. We are always just a click away from viewing what we no longer want to view. If you are sitting at your computer, and a urge comes for you to look, instead of clicking on that other site, click on THIS site, and start reading away. It has proven to help so many here when they done that. I f you cant control the clicking, turn off the computer and walk away from it. It is all about making changes in our life to rid ourself from this sick addiction.

Everyone one here will always try to help you in anyway. We will give you Encouragement and support . We can not cure you. but we can make your road to recovery a lot smoother

Good Luck On you New journey To a New life. Each day that you go without P in it, you will begin to start feeling so much better about yourself

      Default Welcome to TTF

This site is the best on the net for PA's & SO's to find strength & understanding about this addiction. You'll find everybody helpful & kind. They have all helped me through this miserable time in my life. There are a lot of resources for you here. Read, read, & read somemore. Just by being here you have taken a first step into a much larger P-free world. I wish you all the best in your recovery. Stay strong.

Yet each struggle, each defeat, sharpens your skills and strengths, your courage and your endurance, your ability and your confidence and thus each obstacle is a comrade-in-arms forcing you to become better..... or quit. Each rebuff is an opportunity to move forward; turn away from them,...avoid them, and you throw away your future." -Og Mandino
