      Smile A New Day

It has been five days since I again have said goodbye to P. I am feeling productive, healthy, happy and inspired. Having given up this nonsense for as long as 3 weeks previously, I know the temptation will linger, but I also feel stronger having joined this group, and I feel supported having read the beautiful and heartfelt posts here.

Thank you, everyone, for the support you show. I hope to "meet" many of you through this site.

      I remain inspired!

      Chad

      Hi Chaddc!
Welcome to TTF! You are right, you will gain strength from being here! Congratulations on your decision to rid your life of this addiction! This is a very positive first step! Awareness, Acceptance, Action!
You will find great support here from others who have walked this path and who are willing to guide you along the way.
May I suggest that you start a journal in the recovery journal section and try to post to it often. You have already done some reading here and I encourage you to continue. There is much to be learned here from the many wise members who visit.
Start to form your plan of attack. Plan for weak moments and how you will fill your time. Perhaps think about an internet filter as many have found that extremely helpful.
      Listen and Learn Chad!
You are in a great place!
      All the best!

      Welcome Chad!

Glad to have you here, and congrats on taking the step of joining and getting even more involved in breaking the addictive patterns. TTF really can help us improve and maintain a healthier lifestyle and make better choices. I know coming here helps me do that. I've been struggling with my addiction to P for many years, but have been working at recovery and a life without P for about two years now. Two years of knowing I'm an addict, seeking to really break through denial and accept recovery at all costs, and still I'm struggling with all of this! It's a very, very powerful addiction, and we can use all the help we can get to overcome it. Your presence here helps me stay sober, and I hope to help you in turn. Keep coming back and good luck in your journey!

      Bryan

Thanks, Bryan. Sometimes it is easy to forget that we are not alone in this struggle, especially when our addiction is often faceless, in the sense that the interaction with P is usually one-way. Knowing there are others here, all struggling day to day, makes me feel stronger. As I think back on my wasted years with P, I realize how much more I could have done with my life. I have made a success of myself WITH P -- imagine what I could have done without it! The quote I come back to when I need to find strength is "How is what I am doing right now helping me to move forward?" That quote keeps me from giving in to this addiction. Thanks for your support, Bryan. I am here anytime you need to reach out. Stay well!

      Chad
