      Default Hello and thanks..

I hit an all-time low on Sunday.. realizing for the first time that I actually had a problem. Discovering TTF later that night was an eleventh-hour Godsend. Knowing that I'm not alone was enough to give me a hint of hope for recovery. I read and read.. and ultimately installed K9, as many members suggested. That single act, for the first time ever, made me feel that I was somehow traveling down the right path. Thanks to all who post and thanks to all who support.

Yet each struggle, each defeat, sharpens your skills and strengths, your courage and your endurance, your ability and your confidence and thus each obstacle is a comrade-in-arms forcing you to become better..... or quit. Each rebuff is an opportunity to move forward; turn away from them,...avoid them, and you throw away your future." -Og Mandino

      Hi BluMonday:

Welcome! You are in the right place, my friend. We are here to support you. Every one of us has vowed a million times to stay away from porn and broken that vow a million times. My concern: who is the administrator for your K9 filter? It's a good start if you are, but ultimately, and soon, you need to ask someone else to be the administrator. Otherwise, it's too easy to undo it.

We are here to support you. This addiction gets worse and worse over time, so you are wise to come here now and spare yourself and your family more problems in the future.

Let us know how we can help. My suggestions: 1) get a friend to be the admin for K9. 2) read here every day. 3) write here every day 4) Google Sex Addicts Anonymous. I belong and it's great: you get a sponsor whom you call every day, you go to meetings, you read the literature and go through a 12 step process. It's very good. 5) look for connections between your addiction to your self-esteem, anger, emotions, etc.; don't compartmentalize your addiction 6) it's hard in the beginning, but after about a month or 6 weeks it gets easier (for many of us!)

      My best,

      Dave

      When I'm humble and grateful,

I realize that there is a big hole in my soul.

I used to try to fill it with porn,

      but now

I fill it with loving kindness,

      Sobriety date: February 4, 2010.
