I like your idea of being "mentally celibate" and I think it's the way to go. We all seem to do what you describe: sexualize everything constantly. When you are with your SO--now that is a tricky question. I wish I had an answer. Good luck with the changes in your life--being a fulltime dad sounds great (and challenging!). About a journal: sounds like a great idea. The first time I was here, I built up 8 months of sobriety, but I didn't keep a journal, so I didn't have a "home" spot on Through the Flame. Now I keep a journal, and it seems useful. Maybe start with a very short entry--just a couple of sentences with no expectation of writing anything profound. Just set it up. It will take 10 minutes I think.

      When I'm humble and grateful,

I realize that there is a big hole in my soul.

I used to try to fill it with porn,

      but now

I fill it with loving kindness,

      Sobriety date: February 4, 2010.
