      Default New and Lost

My name is Andie and I am addicted to porn and masturbation. This is my first time trying to quit since I've just recently figured out this is ruining my life.

I've been looking around this forum for a couple of days and I've found the reading to be eye opening. I hope to find the help I need here.

      God, grant us the...

Serenity to accept things we cannot change,

Courage to change the things we can, and the

      Wisdom to know the difference

Patience for the things that take time

Appreciation for all that we have

Freedom to live beyond the limitations of our past ways, the

Ability to feel your love for us and our love for each other

Strength to get up and try again even when we feel it is hopeless

I am also new to this forum as an SO. As I read through the PA threads, I cannot tell you how helpful it is to get first hand info from you as I am too pissed and untrusting of my PA. It helps me understand it better (I think) and I hope will help me get back my own self esteem and worth. I think just getting to this site and blurting out your situation helps, both SO and PA's. I guess we are on the same path to health whatever side we happen to land on

It does help indeed and welcome to you both.
There was a post about the steps of addmission about addiction, perhaps someone can point you toward that post.

Tons of information and it'll take a bit to find your way around but you're among friends and you'll settle in quickly if you visit often.
The site offers a great deal of genuine concern for each and every member and the same goes for support.

I like your last sentence. Very realisitc. Good for you.

The SO's offer an amazing level of support and they'll roll out the red carpet for you, of that I'm sure.

Suggestions, hints, tips, advice, support, all are things that you'll find all over the site but in the end it's just you, your PA and your desire to fight this addiction.
      Won't happen overnight.
      Hang in there.
