Default i'm new - hi everybody

i'm very thankful to find this support group. i am addicted to porn. i am going to try to stop and would like your support. i know that you understand how i feel. this has been a burden in my life for too long. i'm forty years old and i want to change. i want to free my mind of these thoughts and experience what its like on the other side of the fence. i want this for myself but of course my wife would be very pleased as well. i want to be a more positive productive healthy person. that's the hope. i joined late evening on 9/1/10 and installed k9 software then as well. no real internet porn since. i did check a few pics minimally. just now threw out last porn dvds (after a slip of course) but they are gone now. so technically i live in a porn free environment now..so let's see how it goes...russ

Welcome to the Flame Rob. Reading your email gives me, as an SO, a sense of hope that PAs can recognise the importance of honesty.

      russ,

      Welcome to TTF.

The Journey out of the fog of P is well worth the effort.

Congratulations on your waking up to the grip it had on your life and taking very positive steps to be free -ACTION!: a necessary ingredient in the war for your freedom.

I would recommend starting your own journal in that section (by starting a New Thread, the title of which will be your journal title). You can approach what to write in a number of different ways, chronological, where-I-am-now, past vs. present, etc., etc. Go with what's comfortable. Share the appropriate amount of detail that you're comfortable sharing.

If you do this it will basically invite our considerable active membership to become directly involved in your recovery -an extremely valuable experience.

      Let the Healing Begin!,

      Daniel

      Welcome to TTF Russ!
I agree with Daniel, Let the healing begin!
You have come to the right place for just that! This is a wonderful supportive environment, a place where you can learn the steps and strategies others use to rid themselves of this sickness. Many here will inspire recovery in you but the work that you do yourself will be what makes you successful.
      Listen and Learn!
I am the wife of a PA and I know for me this site is a lifeline. Perhaps your wife would join us too. I think she may find it very helpful to her recovery!
All the best as you begin your journey to a Pfree life!

      Default Welcome

Russ, welcome to Through the Flame. As you can see from my user name, I share the same goal as you. And I'm just about as new. Let's do this.

      Default Thank you

Thank you all for your kind welcome. I appreciate your guidance and knowledge of this addiction. I will begin my journal immediately. I will attempt to learn from the testimonies of both PAs and SOs. I am fully aware of the true challenge that lies ahead. It feels good to have contact with others that understand this problem. Thanks again...Russ
