      Red face New to TTF

      Hi everyone!

I've only decided to give up P just yesterday, so I'm on the beginning of a long journey. I've basically been an addict for the past 12 years, ever since I was 12 years old and got my first computer. It started out with some childish curiosity but I got hooked real fast.

Later in life I've developed a severe mental illness and anxiety problems which keep me from doing a whole lot of social interaction. So my previous p addiction became my only comfort. I spent days in the darkness doing little but P and I came to realize it is an addictive and a gateway drug and I want out! These problems cost me a wonderful girlfriend and years of my life. Any advice for newbies is appreciated. I look forward to giving some guidance and support to others as well.

      everlight,
Welcome to TTF. Good for you on making the decision to give up P. I highly recommend visiting the Recovery Journals section and starting a journal of your journey towards recovery!

      Peace,
      ~C~

      Hi everlight!

If you want to give up P, you've come to a great place. Everyone here is so understanding and supportive!

I second what Crisodian says. The journals are a great place to start. I'd also like to add that just about any link you click on this site will have something of value. Just start poking around, and reading. You'll be surprised at how much good content there is on the site.

      Once again, welcome!

You, yes YOU, whether a PA, a SA, or a SO, are a person of infinite worth and value. You have power far beyond what you know, and strength in abundance. You might not feel like it right now.... but it's true.
