      Default The new new guy

My name is Bobby. I am a twenty one year old guy who just wants to stop doing the things that I do. It seems each time I look at porn then masterbate you get that feeling of wasted time and what the heck was that all about. I just want to be set free from this addiction and im hoping that this place will help me. Started looking at porn at a very young age and after that its just been a habit I couldnt stop. Thanks. Hope to get help and make some new friends along the way.
      -Bob

Hey Bobby, and welcome to TTF. You have clearly read a few posts around this site already so you should take some comfort that you are not alone in this.

Many PA's here have been exposed to forms of P material from a young age, and its a shame that as the years go by all sorts of provocative media is thrust upon us from just about every angle.

Well in terms of what you can expect here, is 100% support and usefull advice that you can utilise to aid your journey to controlling this addiction, but of course the real energy and momentum to achieve this must start from within. You must be completely clear with why you want to be free from P. If you are not clear on the 'why', you will never be clear on the 'how'.

If you havent already make sure you start a journal in the journal section, and you will be overwhelmed by the number of members that will support you through your journey.

Smile, by joining this site, you have just a made a huge step towards recovery. Well done dude.

Go Robert E! I wrote something somewhere else to you, so I'll just add this: I think a lot of us know this feeling that you mention: "that feeling of wasted time and what the heck was that all about." Yes, the hours and hours and hours we've wasted. Hey, at least you are smart enough to try to get clean at age 20. A lot of us wish we were in your shoes: I've been frittering away hours of time for much longer (I'm 44!), so give yourself credit for being wise enough to face the music now.

Also: "I just want to be set free from this addiction." Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes! We ALLLL agree: we "just want to be set free." Good luck to you, and to all of us. Hope you take Foolish Mind's advice and start a journal. It seems to help me to record my moments of success, weakness, frustrations, and failures.

      You can do it!
