No matter what, one should always receive the opportunity to change. And it is only the self who can provide that opportunity. Hence, I introduce myself here to you all as a new person and I am proud that I managed to overcome my biggest weakness.

Hey Lighthouse: Great attitude: we SHOULD receive these opportunities. I agree! I think you are saying that WE are the ones who can make a change. It's so true! Thank you very much, and good luck. How are you doing?
I am doing very well. I can't access porn on my computer and not only that I don't even remember when I last M and watched P.

Way to go! Lighthouse, can you shall some of your tips for staying clean? I'm always looking for new approaches. Stay strong!
Best,
Dave
Hi Dave,
Great to read from you. How are you doing? For me the biggest step towards cutting back on Porn was to install Blue Coat K9 Web protection on my computer and systematically forget the administrative password. I am aware that this doesn't completely solve the problems, but once you set the protection at moderate level, you will be losing access to a lot of adult contents on the internet. However, there is a downside to this strategy, you will also be unable to access a lot of other material online. However, I think Blue Coat gets updated and is becoming smarter on a daily basis so most of the useful websites are still very active. One can always ask a close friend or someone else to enter a password and not tell you about it. In any case, what I did was I closed my eyes and randomly typed the password and kept my fingers on the keys of the keyboard. After that, I retyped the same password on the password retype box. Hope this makes some sense and helps.

Hey Lighthouse!
A belated welcome to the site! I've not been very active recently! :)
It sounds like you already are doing really great in your recovery. I use K9 too, it's a great bit of software. Particularly for getting through the tough early days. My improvement on your password scheme btw would be to get a trusted friend to set it up for you and let them have control over what you look at. If I read right your version would mean that the K9 block would not be overrideable even if you needed to get on a site which was incorrectly classified.
Either way the key is to kep clean in whatever way works for you!
Good luck with the rest of your battle with P.
Best wishes,
Ben
The world is in a constant conspiracy against the brave. It's the age-old struggle: the roar of the crowd on the one side, and the voice of your conscience on the other. - Douglas MacArthur
"'Thou mayest rule over sin,' Lee. That's it. I do not believe all men are destroyed. I can name you a dozen who were not, and they are the ones the world lives by. It is true of battles - only the winners are remembered. Surely most men are destroyed, but there are others who like pillars of fire guide frightened men through the darkness. 'Thou mayest!' What glory! It is true that we are weak and sick and quarrelsome, but if that is all we ever were we would, millenniums ago, have disappeared from the face of the earth. A few remnants of fossilised jawbone, some broken teeth in a strata of limestone, would be the only mark man would have left of his existance in the world. But the choice, Lee, the choice of winning!" - East of Eden by John Steinbeck
