Arrow What has TTF done for you? - 06-06-2008, 09:48 AM
Dear All,

I joined TTF on the 7th January 2007. At that time there were probably between 5 and 10 daily active members. Even with the site existing and the handful of active members, I took great comfort in knowing I was not alone on this journey. Regardless of where we are all from in the world, our background or beliefs, we all shared in the pain from the causes of P, and gained the strength of mind to say ‘No’ together.

6 months in, this site has grown immensely, with the number of daily posts well into double figures as well as daily active members. While this adds to my strength to combat P, it is also saddening to realise there will be an ever increasing number of people that are affected by PA.

TTF has recently gone over 5000 posts, and very close to 6000 with just short of 600 members of which 10% are in someway active.

It seems in this current day and age; it is far more acceptable to be an alcoholic or a addict. I for one would be a lot less embarrassed to say I was addicted to one of these than P. Why is that? Because PA is not widely acknowledged as an addiction and many disagree there is even a problem with P. I am positive this attitude will change in time, generally after it has affected a professionally recorded statistic in the millions.

So what’s this post all about?

TTF has been so significant in assisting me to be P free. TTF has provided a platform, a virtual platform that feels safe and secure. It has allowed me to meet others in similar positions to me, it has allowed my wife to meet others in similar positions to her. It has allowed both PA’s and partners to both understand each others situations.

Anyone can create a forum, but the care, and attention to detail that has gone into TTF is second to none, in that it has 100% duty of care to its members for the primary objective of helping people break free from PA.

For this reason, and nearing 6000 posts, I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Admin for all his time and effort in creating this site. His vision is selfless and humble, and I believe that is why this site is a success and will continue to be.

Keeping this site alive is not only important for me, but it is important for another million other people who will be affected by P, and one day, may need this site to save their marriage, relationship or even life.

Ask yourself these questions
  1. Have you received one piece of advice that has stopped you from viewing P at a weak moment?
  2. Has TTF changed your views on P?
  3. Has TTF given your relationship another chance?
  4. Has TTF given you that confidence to say no?
  5. Has TTF allowed you to use your knowledge to help others?
  6. Has TTF allowed you to spend hours on the forum or arcade instead of hours in front of P?
If your answer is YES to any of these, like they are for me, I would very much encourage you to do two things:
  • Post a short a reply and let Admin know what he has done for you so far.
  • Make a donation. (The smallest donation is $25 / £13) How much would you value your relationship? How much would you value your quality of life?
Thank You

FoolishMind

Quite truthfully TTF has given me back my life. It has made it worth living!

I can't think of better words to say it so there it is.

TTF has given me support when I have needed it. I was ready to leave my husband, now I am more focused to help him through this, whilst seeking help for myself.

It has also let me know that I am not alone, and that I am not going crazy, how I feel is ok.

This site has given me a lot of support in the short time I have been here, and I am thankful for that.

TTF saved my marriage and for that I thank this site with all my heart. I was gonna leave my H and just logged onto this site, just to seek some sort of comfort and it has changed our lives more than I thought could be possible.
It made me realise that I wasnt alone and that my H wasnt a nasty person, it made me support him through his journey and reap in its benefits.
I have met some wonderful human beings on this site, who I never thought existed.
TTF has made me feel beautiful, confident and loved one more time.

Thank you!

I could argue, without trying to sound overly dramatic, that this site's given me a reason to keep living to try to better myself and my relationship at the same time.

TTF has helped me to start to get a grasp on my life. Before my life was a downward spiral and TTF put the brakes on the train, if you know what I mean. TTF as well as you foolish, light, and dominus have all been such wonderful friends and been such a wonderful help.

About donating money, I would love to, but I'm a college student, I really cant afford that. Thats why I'm trying to learn html, xhtml, css and php so that I may be able to help support TTF in a way that doesn't involve money, a way that I'm actually able to help out in.

p.s. 25 american bucks = 13 pounds? . . . woh . . . I'd hate to go on a vacation there, I'd be even more poor than I am here lol.

I can answer yes to all those questions. I'm still new and need to learn a lot. I'll definitely make a donation in the near future.

I've said this before, but this site has helped me to stay away from porn 100% since the first time I found it. I still occasionally find the urge creeping in from the corners of my mind but I haven't really had to struggle with it yet. The support I've found here has been extremely helpful. I think the main thing is to have the problem taken seriously. Having the site there at the click of a button makes it a great thing in emergencies, to break the habitual connection between computer use and porn. Thanks to everyone here and especially the admin, moderators and regular posters for your mutual support. You have helped me save myself from a lot of misery.
