Default Can we find it in our Hearts

If you have not read what our wonderful Admin posted in the site news area of this forum, I ask you to do so now, even if it means you don’t read this right now. (But make sure you still read this)

I was just thinking about what our wonderful Admin had written, about trying to give, to help out this site, so it can keep running as it is.
I am very guilty in not supporting this site, with monies. I am ashamed about it, and only once in the year I have been here, have I ever donated anything. I know, that is it TTF, that has been the main reason in staying a year free from my addiction to P***. The support that I /all of us get here is priceless. Where else can any of us go, to get Loving, and caring support and encouragement?

My answer to that is NOWHERE.

We just had the change in administration on this site, and I don’t think that who took it over, did so for any financial gain in there lives. Who ever it is that took over, did so, because they saw just how important this site, is for all who are here. It is not free to have this site. It does take money, to keep this site going. And I am sure that the new Admin, doesn’t have money just falling out of his pockets, where he is able to keep this site, the best and safest place for any of us to be at, but instead, he/she/them are just normal everyday people, just trying to make it in the hard times all of us are in at this time.

Now I ask this to the family here. Is there anything at all that we can do, to help keeping this wonderful site as we call home around? It does not matter if it is a simple$ 1.00, $20.00 $100.00, anything that we can give, will help you/us, in having this place to come to for the help that we need.

I am very guilty in saying I wish I had money to give to TTF, yet I have money to buy a pack of smokes, that is just un-healthy to me, and I don’t have enough to give to something, that is helping me to live a healthy life? I am ashamed in my thinking

I can not do anything at all until after the first of the year, but I am going to commit myself, in making sure I support this site more with monies, after the first of the year. It may be a little, or maybe I will strike it rich, and it can be a lot, I don’t know. All I do know, it I can not put a price on the support that I have gotten here, and in all fairness, none of us can
So all I am asking is, that each one of us, look in our Hearts, to see if there is anything that any of us can do, to help this site around for us.

They did not ask me to do this, and they do not know I am doing this. I am doing it, because I love TTF, and all that it stands for, and I want it around for the next generation of addicts to be able to come to, for the best, and safest place to get help

If the new Admin did not step in to keep this site going, it is sad to say, that this site could have closed down. But because of his/her/there love for us, they took it over, to keep it running, so we can be here right now this very second

Just think about it. In my heart, I had to write this, because I love TTF, and I love all of you here

It is just one member to another, asking you to think about this.

      Your fellow addict
      Gerald

      Hi INOH,

What a nice post and you are absolutely right. TTF has made such a difference in my life as well. I have found much comfort at times when my world seemed so dark. I too believe that he/she took over the Administration position without any financial gain. He/She has done this for us! I am certain that Admin must spend endless hours supporting and maintaining this site not to mention the costs involved in securing the longevity of TTF.

      You are right admin:
TTF is your site. It is the people here that make this site what it is. I see many good things happening here. I see people reaching out to others in support and friendship. I see people sharing strategies and guidance. I see a welcoming, safe place for all our members whether new or established.

I know I’m also guilty of not contributing enough to this site or maybe I just take things for granted. I don’t know, but can I/we get some instruction on how we can make either a one time donation to TTF OR a monthly contribution. Sometimes that seems to work best with budgeting, I know I do this with other non-profit organizations and it seems to work well for me.

Thank you all Admin, past and present, for all your hard work. We really appreciate all that you do.

I hope every one has a Merry Christmas

What a great post Gerald! Thank you for putting it out there for us. I have to tell you that you support TTF everyday my friend. You should not be feeling guilty whatsoever!
I too have received so much from TTF over the past 21 months that mac and I have been here! It has been a true blessing in my life! I am only too happy to give back for all I have been given. As Admin says, if those of us who can afford to give a little do so, we can ensure longevity for TTF.
Healme - mac and I make a monthly donation, and if you click on the pink pig you will see the monthly donation button on the right hand side. There are amounts of $5, $10, $20, $30. For the price of a cup of coffee once a week, someone can give a donation to this site. That is pretty inexpensive support, don't you think?
I consider the support and guidance I have received here at TTF to be so much more valuable to me than what I received from the counselling I sought out. And being as I did not let anyone else in on this life trauma, TTF was absolutely HUGE in my healing.
I too encourage our members to give what they can, if they can.
      All the best!

      Just bumping this up.

As the new year arrives, I am sure that part of the new year, we want to do the best that we can in our recovery. I am sure that all of us feel that TTF, has been a main focal point in recovery, and we have come to realize, that without this wonderful site, we would not be as good as we are in recovery.

It takes a lot to keep this site going for each one of us here. It is amazing that we are able to come some where on the internet, and not be over whelmed with all kind of advertisements, that can even be triggers to some of us here. With that said, with no Advertisements here, that means no sponcers to help support this wonderful site. So to keep TTF as a safe place to come to, this is why it is a self funding site.

Just think about it if, there is anything that we can do, to help out with monies, so this site can keep going. I am in no way saying we have to give our life savings to TTF. but if we can even just give $10.00, that would be so much more help than you can realize

Again I say, that our new Admin, did not ask me to do this. I did it as a member who loves this site, and needs this site to continue to be around, not only for me, but for all of YOU also.

So please, search your hearts, to see if we can just donate a few dollars to our recovery home TTF

I wish all of you to have a very wonderful New Years. A new year with freedom from this sick addiction. God bless all of you here.

I love all of you here

      Your friend and fellow addict
      Gerald
