The Christmas season is upon us, and that always makes me think of being grateful. In Alanon we have a custom of having a gratitude meeting at Christmas time. It is my most favourite meeting. I thought we could expand it to TTF. I hope others will join in to make a post about what they are most thankful for in their lives.
I have so much to be thankful for in my life.
I am so very grateful for the people in my life. My sons, my family, my friends.
I am so thankful to have a warm, cozy home with precious treasures and everything I could ever need.
I am so thankful for my job, which brings me such joy and fulfillment but also challenges me.
I am thankful for the lessons life continues to give me, and all that I have learned from those lessons.
I am thankful for the beauty all around me, in my surroundings, in the joy and laughter of others, in the innocence of children, in the antics of pets, in the quiet solitude of nature.
I am thankful for my health and wellbeing and strength.
I am thankful for the path life has taken me on, and all that I have learned along the way.
I am thankful for Alanon and all that I learned during my time there.
I am so very thankful for TTF and the wisdom and kindness of all that are here, and for all it has done to encourage my healing.
I am grateful for the experience that this life lesson has given to both mac and I, and how we have come together in our thinking during this time.
I am so grateful for the friends and connections we have made here, who support and guide us continuously on this journey we are on. Without them I am not sure where we would be at this moment.
I am most grateful for my H mac, who has done his utmost to not only recover for himself, but to do absolutely everything within his power to make sure I was cared for, nurtured and loved back to a better place. He has dug deep within himself, and found a truly wonderful man, one that I always knew was there, but that he had to discover on his own. I am so thankful that I could see his self respect grow and flourish during this past year. That was a lovely thing to witness!
I am thankful for the emotions we now experience. We can cry at the least little things, and I am thankful for what that really means. It means we are grateful, and for that I am grateful!
