      Default Gratitude

The Christmas season is upon us, and that always makes me think of being grateful. In Alanon we have a custom of having a gratitude meeting at Christmas time. It is my most favourite meeting. I thought we could expand it to TTF. I hope others will join in to make a post about what they are most thankful for in their lives.

I have so much to be thankful for in my life.
I am so very grateful for the people in my life. My sons, my family, my friends.
I am so thankful to have a warm, cozy home with precious treasures and everything I could ever need.
I am so thankful for my job, which brings me such joy and fulfillment but also challenges me.
I am thankful for the lessons life continues to give me, and all that I have learned from those lessons.
I am thankful for the beauty all around me, in my surroundings, in the joy and laughter of others, in the innocence of children, in the antics of pets, in the quiet solitude of nature.
I am thankful for my health and wellbeing and strength.
I am thankful for the path life has taken me on, and all that I have learned along the way.
I am thankful for Alanon and all that I learned during my time there.
I am so very thankful for TTF and the wisdom and kindness of all that are here, and for all it has done to encourage my healing.
I am grateful for the experience that this life lesson has given to both mac and I, and how we have come together in our thinking during this time.
I am so grateful for the friends and connections we have made here, who support and guide us continuously on this journey we are on. Without them I am not sure where we would be at this moment.
I am most grateful for my H mac, who has done his utmost to not only recover for himself, but to do absolutely everything within his power to make sure I was cared for, nurtured and loved back to a better place. He has dug deep within himself, and found a truly wonderful man, one that I always knew was there, but that he had to discover on his own. I am so thankful that I could see his self respect grow and flourish during this past year. That was a lovely thing to witness!
I am thankful for the emotions we now experience. We can cry at the least little things, and I am thankful for what that really means. It means we are grateful, and for that I am grateful!

Everything you said is good, Jenn, but I have to focus in on that one in particular. I have been so out of touch with my emotions for so long that for me to be feeling them the way I have been lately is nothing short of a miracle. I'm grateful to be feeling them again.

Wonderful idea Jenn, especially at this time of year!

I am thankful for the life Rockinastorm & I are building together, and that we are now counting down the days to our wedding!
I am thankful for my job, one that allows me to use my education and continues to teach me more every day.
I am thankful for the roof over my head and food on the table.
I am thankful for my wonderful parents and crazy brothers.
I am thankful for Evie, our cat (currently living with Rockin-I miss them both!).
I am thankful for my friends, no matter how near or far we may be right now.
I am thankful that I have been able to experience so much beauty in all the changing seasons.
I am thankful for TTF, the wonderful people I have met here, and the support and education we have found here has helped Rockin and I through the lowest point in our relationship.
I am thankful that Rockin is growing stronger every day, and overcoming his past—growing into the man he has always wanted to be.
I am thankful that our relationship has grown, and we are both learning how to support one another.
I am thankful for so many wonderful, beautiful things in my life…far too many to list here!

      Nice idea Jenn

Gratitude? We all have it, but how often do we step back and really think about it? Well for sure for me, more often than I used to.

I do feel very grateful and just sitting here thinking about it can almost bring me to tears. It's when I think along this line that my mind can go back to what I jeopordized in my life

      I am grateful for
      - a comfortable life, a comfortable place to live
      - my little peace of serenity in the country ( this is were Jenn and I did so much healing) should be called the healing place
      - my health, which without sobriety i would not have
      - my golf and hockey buddy's and all their weird ways, sorry Jenn everyone has some friends like this.
      - my friends here at TTF, you have helped me in so many ways, I am so proud to be a part of such a wonderful and positive place.
      - my Mom, although a bit of a pain, is still on the go and healthy
      - the 2 wonderful young men that are my sons, I love them beyond expression, I'm so proud
      - the 2 wonderful young women that come along with my sons, just part of the family
      - for my friend Rock and his Hopeful who started this journey with me (same day) a guiding inspiration always
      - for my Jenn, for I guess to put it simple, for saving me. That's what you have done
      - for me and the me I am today and the contentment that brings
      - for my life and all that it brings
      - for the love that I am shown by my beautiful wife everyday, I love her more than words can decribe

      A very Grateful
      Mac
