      Default "Fireproof"

I was recently given a book and a movie by the title of "Fireproof." I have not completed the reading of the book simply because I watched the movie first, and the book is a near direct translastion, but I'd still highly recommend both/either. (I actually think that it was a movie first.)

The movie tackles porn addiction and a marriage; the husband is the addict and the wife is struggling with all of the textbook reactions to living with a PA spouse. It's a wondeful movie, very moving and very compelling. It is Christian based, so there are strong Biblical undertones, but still offers some extremely valuable information even for those not looking for faith-based recovery. There's something to be learned by all viewers, but in my opinion, the biggest impact will be for those couples who watch it together.

It can be purchased at most Christian bookstores as well as online.

      Hi cbh,

Good movie and I purchased it at Walmart. My H did the Love Dare book just recently because of that movie.

I didn't realize that Walmart carried it. That's awesome!

I forgot to mention that my copy came with a free copy of the full-version of a filtering type software program (I won't mention the name because I think the forum rules state that we shouldn't) that is considered "one of the best" and highly recommended by faith-based recovery programs. Hopeful, did yours include this as well?

No cbh it didn't but we have Covenant Eyes on our computers if that's the one you are talking about. CE has a monthly fee.

No, the program is SafeEyes. I actually hadn't heard of it prior to discovering that it was included free on my copy of the movie, but I was told by the individual who gifted me the book/movie set that the program is considered one of the best, especially in faith-based recovery programs. I was already running a separate program on my home computer, and -- considering my current circumstances -- never took the time to install.
