      Default Feminist Point of View?

Hi all. This question just popped in my head. I think it was sparked by one of Rosie's signature quotes and it started me thinking. I had a professor in college who is a feminist, and I would get into discussions with her about feminist ideas. Obviously, as a man, I can't quite be a feminist. I consider myself a humanist, so I think I share alot of the same ideals. Basically, in a nut shell, I believe that we are all entitled to the respect and love that we deserve, regardless of gender, race, orientation, etc. etc. I do not consciously commend the exploitation of anyone (I am aware of the paradox) so I have a feeling that I will be able to share many feminist views. Why shouldn't a woman be paid as much as a man??? Anyway. What do you guys think?

You don't have to be a woman to be a feminist. A feminist is a person who supports feminism. Feminism is simply advocating for womens' social and political rights equal to men.

Hey Rich... for some reason this thread reminds me of Captain Kirk - "To Boldly Go Where No Man Has Gone Before!"...

But seriously... As the father of three daughters and the husband of my favorite human in the whole world I am a feminist and would love to see that they get treated equally in this life! ...I too am for the human race and would like to see all humans get fair and equal treatment! Women are a big part of this human race and this Sunday being Mothers Day is a time to realize just how important they are because none of us would be here if it weren't for Mom!
~Rock or Mark... whichever you prefer...

"I will never go back, I have found my place and I'm staying". ~Mac

Most of all, I am just happy to be myself, with no need to be anything more. At peace and content. ~Mell

      Or dad :P

I guess the label doesn't really matter all that much anyway Rich, but if it helps you feel better, there are many males who call themselves feminist! :)
