Drawings/Animation of P

General question for PAs and SOs alike. How do you all feel about drawings or animation of P? I feel a little better about it, but I still get really upset by it or the idea of my H seeing it. I think it is a little better than real P but still just as vile in what it depicts and to be avoided as well.

Exactly. The minute we start categorizing P is the minute something becomes acceptable. Something everyone needs to realize is it's all that type of P. There are no shades of gray, as they all do the same things to the users' psyche and view of the world. To say 'Well animated stuff is okay.' leads to 'Well, soft-core real life stuff is okay, too.' and so on and so forth. It's a slippery slope. And make no mistake, all P is bad.

I see what you mean stillandagain and personally I agree with you. Though, I do feel people treat them as different from one another, so, I just wanted to ask. To me it's all the same, but, I do feel worse about live P though.

Edit: Zachary I believe you are right. I can't accept any of it and I am just frustrated to heavens that my PA H does not think this way!

It took me a while to think that way. My partner was patient and showed me a lot of articles and studies showing just what an affect any kind of P can have on people and society. I wasn't immediately receptive, but I came around. I hope your H will, too. I wish you both the best.

IMO: P drawings are still P. Animation of P is still P. Fantasy P storys, are still P. IM/Chat about P, just as bad. It's all about seeking the "fantasy", the fiction. While it may not be a live human, it still stimulates the fantasy drive. P in my book. :)

I do agree with everyone here. it is still P.

I am a Alcoholic. this is another addiction, that I need to get out of my life. Even though I can go to the store and buy a Non Alcohol beer, I chose not to do it. Why? Just the taste alone can act as a trigger to want to taste a regular beer.

So if a PA was to keep looking at drawings or animation of P, cannot this also want them to taste the more dangerous stuff?

To me, this stuff is so much deeper than P. I think P is the end-result of the ingrained culture of our time.

It comes down to devaluation of connection, intimacy, and real relationships - add objectification, and devaluation of the female (generally), and it's the same stuff for me. The so called "artwork" to me - is nothing more than P served up as something "less harmful", but nonetheless, it is still Porn. There is nothing remotely creative or artistic about it. Moreover, this sort of so called "harmless art" fuels the P industry too....

I think its easy to see literature and art of P as not so bad, because there are not real people in those things. However, if you think about the message its sending - its the same as P. Sex is entertainment, use this instead of real sexual connection with your partner - and escape into fantasy-land instead of dealing with reality.

throwing in my two cents: it IS P. No doubt. Especially if its USED for P.

I am beginning to think that self-deception is the first and one of the hardest battles.

I feel like there's no one definition for P. It all depends on who is using it and how their using it.

If a PA is using an underwear catalog as P, it's P. If they're using an R-rated movie or explicit TV show as P, it's P. If it's a romance novel being used for the wrong reasons, it's P.
