      Default Strategies for Android Phones

I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on how to deal with the web browser on an Android phone.

I have Safe Eyes on my home computers. Safe Eyes makes an iPhone app, as does K9, but I haven't seen anything for Android.

Also, the Android marketplace has some things that are pretty bad as well.

      Any ideas?

      Sam,
Remi posted the same question here this morning:
How can I block P on my android phone?

      Peace,
      ~C~

No worries. There's a lot of info on the site. I will merge the threads. :)

My PA H and I both have, excuse me, had,Android 2 phones until he got caught a few weeks back. The guy at Verizon told us that all the "smart phones" have web access but the Android phones are the only ones that can't be blocked from web usage. I did discover also that just to have internet service disconnected doesn't mean that you can't still access the web. We went back to our Chocolates and had the internet usage turned off but when I got home and started playing with it I discovered that there IS still the mobile web with access to chat rooms, etc. I went back and talked to the guy at Verizon and he had to manually "block" everything and "check off" all the unwanted features. Hope this helps. I am "electronically challenged" but am learning to stay one step ahead of the game. Want to by an Android 2? ;D

Thanks found this helpful. I did view alot of P on my android phone before it got me into trouble. I ended up switching phones with my wife giving her the droid and I got her old flip phone. Solved that problem for me, just wish it didn't have it come to that.

Yeah, I know. I hate it for my husband that I am having to treat him like a 5 year old now.But I am trying to help him out. I gave up my Droid too although I didn't have to. Laptop still stays glued to my hip.I hate that all the younger kids are so exposed to this stuff and alot of the parents aren't even aware, or just don't care. So sad.

I sold my husbands android phone on ebay. I don't care if he feels like he was treated like a child. After 10 years of marriage, I get a say when he takes his sexuality to other people.. and I have no regrets that I sold it.

He then got a replacement phone that "apparently" didn't have net access - but of course it did, and he then relapsed with it.

Now he has a text and call ONLY phone.

Mobile phones with net access is like having 24/7 pocket porn.

      Oh Rosie,

I don't deny that he needs to be treated like a child, only that I wanted a HUSBAND and not a CHILD to share my life with. I feel like his mother instead of his wife. And I have no problem either with taking control of the situation. I have 10 years invested also.

My husband only has text and call only on his phone also. I also have it arranged with the phone company that ALL information be listed on the phone bill. This means EVERY phone number called will be listed individually.

And I do agree that mobile phones with net access is like having pocket porn. We have sooooo much in common. I am so glad I found this site.

Yep, I know what it's like to want a husband and not another child :(

It's a hard situation. You want a husband, and want to treat them like one, and want them to ACT like one, but they don't, so you sort of HAVE TO treat them like a child - which is what we don't want either.

It's hard to find a healthy compromise isn't it!
