      Default Computer and television

Good evening to everyone. I discussed a topic tonight in therapy and I may have discovered something unusual. Here is my hypothesis gathered over the last two days. I have noticed over that when I'm on the computer and being productive, that is true research and writing, I have no desire to go down the P path. I then realized that many times before while I'm on the internet, and I have the TV on, that my mind wanders and I do head down that path we all know too well. When I'm listening to mind-numbing crap on the television, my mind seems to reason that I might as well look at mind-numbing material on the internet. So, for me, maybe the problem is not the computer, but the television set. Any thoughts out there about this discovery?

yes, you've got a point. often if your mind believes internet=P, than more often than none you may access it. As for TV its all about desensitization. When your mind becomes more used to certain material, it allows for more rawer material and so on...I think there's a post up on ttf somewhere

I find that there is a mesmerizing effect to TV. I've heard it attributed to the scan rate - I reckon it's the content - you're meant to be a passive consumer of manipulation through images and advertising and sx sells.

I don't have a TV. I watch DVD box sets and films and use the radio a lot. I find it's a better way for me.

I agree with you, some times while I'm watching in TV a no sex at all program, some ads exploits the sexual nature we all have inside, more focused in man, with women in a non explicit sexual behavior, is in this moments when some inner urge, subtle and intense at the same time, charges some figured battery who wants to be discharged with P and MB.

At this point I usually think in this feeling, I realize that it happens and that my conscious notice it, managing this feeling with the reason instead of the primal force inside ,this is enough for me to discharge this urge instantaneously and keep with the battery in a control point.

      Just my opinion.
      And sorry for my English.
