Does anyone have any suggestions on what to say? Other than don't let them use my PC? :)
We just addressed this as my PA had to install it at his work without them knowing. Covenant eyes was the program he picked (I said he and I'm grateful that it was his decision and not mine) for both his home and work computers. You can have up to 5 computers at no extra charge.

So the big question for him was; what if my work finds out (viewing P at work was an issue for my H)….. While CE has assured him that it can run in the back ground but any one at his work could try and log into any inappropriate sites and the blocker would become visible.

      As MAC put it:
For some reason I was a little reluctant to do this, I was a little worried about having it on my work computers, which seems pretty idiotic when I thought of what I was previously using the same computers for. Wow!!
What this gives both you is something concrete you can both trust without any question. The CE log does not lie, it is what it is. I very much remember a sort of relief when I finally did this, it was just something I could give Jenn that she could just take to the bank as the truth and without question.
I told my PA to be “prepared” and if and when it ever happens you can have an explanation. He has decided that he will tell them that he was getting pop ups that were inappropriate for the work place and when he mentioned it to his pastor he suggested to get a software program to prevent any pop ups or inappropriate sites to come up. He suggested CE as he knows of families with children who use it and are very satisfied with it. Now I work in HR and if my employees suggested that these were the reasons for installing this on their computers I for one would fully support them. How can you fault an employee for doing the right thing!

I ask you, would any labour boards laws not support this? I do know however, they would not support P.

So instead of guilt and shame just be prepare and be strong.

I'm just looking at purchasing a Droid 2 and was hoping to find some kind of web filter that worked on the mobile phones. Covenant Eyes and Net Nanny are both working on one, set to come out in the fall of 2011 (hoping soon).

Anyone know any other filter that works on Androids?

I hope someone can offer advice regarding the above. How do you filter/block content on wireless devices?

The Mobicip is the content filter that runs on Android, iPhone, and Windows and Mac, but its primary platform are mobile devices.

It is also possible to install dansguardian on Android, but it is a difficult task, requires patching and recompiling the code, and of course rooting the device. You can find some instructions on the Internet.

Maybe also look for something on Android Market, but I doubt that there will be anything sensible (the last time I searched I found nothing).

EDIT: I didn't test Mobicip nor dansguardian on Android. I may give some advice on installing the second one.

I won't agree with You. I have found a review for at least 6 parental control solutions for Linux.

In case of WINDOWS: Well, it may be very difficult for him to get AROUND that if he does not have an administrator account, only a regular user one. Also put strong passwords on all the administrator accounts.

I am using dansguardian myself and configured it to be really, really difficult to go around while still having possibility to install and remove programs (it is possible on Linux because it
It is a really nice program with many features, but is a bit difficult to configure and setup. It was designed as a filtering software for a network (for example in a work). It is possible to use WebContentControl for its configuration, but it does not allow You to use all of its features.
It is also possible to use it in a Covenant-Eyes mode, but the logs are a bit difficult to read.
I may help Your husband to configure it, but if he does not wish to recover, using a filtering software won't help.

I do not have any experience with Net responsibility, but if Your husband does not have administrator access (access to sudo and su) he will not be able to circumvent it easily (also blocks on GRUB and BIOS are required).

After several cycles of broking into my dansguardian installation and configuring it to fix the holes, I have much experience with filitering software and especially dansguardian.
